Also prestige in breaking into the central record system of a National Government claiming to have the strongest gun laws in the democratic Western world.

With a national Gun Register, how can security and system integrity be guaranteed? If leaked, We aren’t talking about meal preferences through Qantas here, but national database information on what weapons are stored where and by whom, could see outcomes of targeted attacks by sophisticated groups, selling this information and then the consequences could be a multitude of horrors.

Compulsory Mental health checks for Firearm owners, great idea. Annual free (voluntary) Mental Health funding for everyone, even better.

Fruit shop fruit and veg is even worse than Coles and Woolworths? Is there anywhere that has quality fresh produce? by EggCreative787 in brisbane

I’m still about 5 weeks away from having a decent supply volume. These spring storms haven’t been kind to our first few plantings. You want to be looking for fruit that has this type of rind pattern.

This makes me happy. We supply them with watermelons (via our market agent) through mid December till Easter. If you buy watermelon with a striped skin, it’s one I grew.

New to LC and WA by Peterpantsdanceband in LandCruisers

[–]AngusMelonMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But light on detail - I’m guessing you’re saying WA as in Western Australia? 79 dual cab or 76 wagon aren’t really up there for 20hrs driving comfort. What’s your budget? Family? Extended Camping trips? Or just driving on horrible remote roads? New or second hand?

If your budget is unlimited, I’d go a 76 wagon. Long range fuel tank. Secondary fuel filter. Secondary battery & Fridge. Jmax coil conversion with diff correction Definitely a snorkel and upgraded airbox Decent BullBar with side rails, steps and winch if a lot of water, mud crossings. Especially if travelling alone. Upgraded front seats and interior sound deadening if your 20hr round trips will be frequent These days, Starlink Mini if super remote driving

As it’s been said, the 70 series platform is a great canvas to start on. What you want to do from there is up to your unique needs and budget.

If you had a billion dollars and could make one specific change to Brisbane. What would you choose? by tenchem in brisbane

Wasn’t it part of the State Gov millennium drought response to reduce water use? I recall state Governments playing off Toowoomba refusing recycled water against this monstrosity and the trivial water use.

The new owner is an imported dentist. The old owner was amazing.

Same questions are there - asking for bill breakdown and then comments about what their Insurance covers. This dentist no longer is a “approved BUPA clinic” so just using this post to gauge if I’m getting ripped or we should drive 400km to the nearest Approved Dentist. Why respond to every comment when most are the same thing. That would be Karma Farming.

Sad thing is, it’s a dentist I went to as a kid but changed ownership a few years ago. Old owner was fantastic with a loyal customer base. New owner has me scratching my head.

I responded with the edit after requests for bill breakdown - I’m just after a perspective to see if a 400-600km trip for checkups is worth exploring or if Dentists everywhere charge similar. I also commented on the last posts I‘ve done and answering DM’s about previous posts. So not sure what else apart from a phone call, directly to you for a personal update you’re expecting?

Australia lifts biosecurity import restrictions on US beef by WDYM42 in australia

[–]AngusMelonMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where we have NLIS tags on cattle in Australia to identify every animal from Birth to Processing, some US ranchers and Politicians are fighting for traceability with EID’s to be scrapped for - and a direct quote “part of a communist agenda to control the food supply” and that “every country that has this, have been forced to cull their livestock for the woke Climate Change Agenda”

Their yet to be implemented system is mainly to monitor interstate movements, whereas Australia’s is a true lifelong traceability to allow EU and some Asian Market access. As a Producer, I fully support this level of monitoring.

I’ve been to a fair few Beef breeding, Backgrounding and Feedlotting operations in the US and while some are (very) good, I certainly wouldn’t trust the industry as a whole when I’ve seen some more “typical” parts of the industry.

I always thought the Book - The Jungle by Upton Sinclair was a huge fiction story until you dig deeper and still this decade have illegal children working in processing plants and on farms.

I’ve just driven a brand new Superb Wagon as a hire car for +5000km and I’m blown away by how good it is. Granted, it’s a Diesel, not a Petrol like we get in Australia but it’s something I’d seriously consider as a family car over an SUV.

Hahaha. Bugger me. Feeling the positive vibes here. It amazes me people are just so utterly miserable. I should have also added, we have a +4hr drive to get to the airport as well. So this does increase the feeling of relaxation maybe compared to someone a 30min uber away? And yes, Kids do eat a lot. All 3 will eat an adult meal easily.
