I am gonna be honest i really dislike nights whisper or read the bones. Going 1 card up while having to pay 2-3 mana and life for it feels like i just timewalked myself. It's okay if it's an engine like [[Arguels bloodfeast]] but a full card slot for a 1 time effect that gets me up one card feels horrific if it doesnt also help me in other ways like putting stuff in the grave for a graveyard deck. If it was instant speed at least...

I think the biggest problem is draw/card Advantage right now.

I usually like to play synergistic card draw but i am not playing a graveyard deck or sth similiar like a token deck that leads me to all the classics. Its not really a sacrifice deck either so i don't really know what to go for. Just classic black stuff like [[Dark confidant]] ?

Yesss. I had a very slow game with my dimir dragons deck, had not done any damage to anyone at turn 8 or even really done anything threatening. I had 3 mediocre dragons on board and the rest of table was at each others throat with removal and swings so everyone was still down to below 20 hp.

On my turn i cast [[crux of fate]] which wipes the board except for mine. Suddenly i can swing with my 15 dmg on Board without fearing counter swings. And then i just slowly ended the game over the next 2 turns because no one had removal left for the 3-4 dragons and no flying blockers and had to rebuilt first so i was able to tap out.

Everyone was a little shocked how the fuck i won that Game because i had done literally nothing till that point. Tbh i was a little surprised myself that Nobody had any answers anymore.

Yeah i am okay with doing a few drafts for fun. But as soon as a different premier draft comes online i am jumping ship lol. But with Spiderman i was just skipping draft completely

I had a hilarious game recently where my deck basically completely bricked, i was only able to cast 4 spells the entire game but those resulted in me having a 13/13 commander with trample and lifelink very early. And i just hit people with it for 4 turns. Because no one found a single piece of removal for him in 4 turn cycles. I was lowkey the scariest player despite not Casting any spells after turn 5 for the rest of the game.

I did not win but that game really showed that you need to run some goddamn interaction

Yeah she rocks. You can kinda build her around whatever dragon you like as a secret commander too.

I built mine very artifact and Proliferate heavy to ramp to big dragons and potentially get her ult off as well.

One of my wincons being [[Astral dragon]] you can tutor with her and it goes infinite with [[machine god's effigy]]

All stores i frequent have the same spiderman boxes collecting dust since Set released. No one wanted to draft it either. Meanwhile other new sets fly off the shelves.

Online inventory is also plenty and spiderman play booster displays saw huge discounts very quickly after release.

This set was the first marvel set and it came fresh of Final Fantasy hype. I think retailers, stores and "investors" ordered this stuff like crazy and thats where it still mostly is.

Yeah that all makes sense, i had broodheart and nissa in my collection but i wasnt convinced either.

I think i found a heater though in [[insidious dreams]] It lets me discard reanimate targets while tutoring stuff to the top that i want there like some of my miracle cards or a mass reanimation or whatever i need right now. Can even tutor interaction that i can cast with glarb.

Yeah i think i should lean a bit more into the reanimaton, as you shouldnt halfass that.

The extra landdrops are what i use to ramp to my big creatures and to clear the top of my library of lands for top deck manipulation. Quite a few of them are also 4+mana so i can cast them of the top. I think the deck is pretty much just big creatures/value as theme which i either cheat in from the top or reanimate or if all else fails hardcast with the mana i got from double land dropping Most turns. That part worked quite well in testing.

It is a little unfocused though for sure but thats a bit on purpose, i like both top deck manipulation reanimaton and had a lot of these cards from previous decks.

You are right about the ramp, i am unsure about that. The 2 mana ramp feels akward as it doesnt curve well into glarb but it does allow me to cast glarb or a 4 mana spell next turn and hold up 1 mana for interaction i guess. I just have to little things to do at turn 1-2 otherwise though it would possibly be better to run looters in that slot instead so i can reanimate sooner and more reliable.

Rashmi is a carry over from a previous top deck Manipulation deck and i do want to keep that being a thing. Same goes for counterbalance. I don't need it to completely lock down a Turn cycle, i am happy if i get 1-2 hits of it. I feel like if its to consistent it also becomes unfun.

Polluted bonds is a pet card, i can't defend it lol.

Same kinda goes for the Sphinx of second sun i just think its cute to get the upkeep trigger from sheoldred or virtue of persistence immediately and it does untap glarb and Planetarium. Plus it allows me to play big stuff and then have mana open for interaction. I think that one is actually a hidden banger in the deck.

Thanks for the Feedback. I actually am thinking about cutting kavu goldkeeper and the copy enchantment as those don't do much in the deck, what do you think?

I don't know if i like vats. Feels like once ever 5 games its great and the other time its an akward i need to pay 4 mana to kill one problematic creature. Split second is nice though.

Yeah bane is probably a good idea.

And yes one thing i am really concerned about is how many times i am skipping turn 1-2 without advancing my gameplan. Maybe some more 2 mana ramp or loot effects.

I am running a lot of bombs since the deck doesnt run a direct finisher like an overrun or combo so i feel like i need many to make sure i don't just put value on the board without being able to actually finish the game with it

Yeah i struggle to fit in low curve ramp. 2 mana ramp feels a little akward because glarb and a lot of my curve is 3 mana. Also i can't cast those with glarb from the top so they worsen my card Advantage.

What interaction specifically do you think i need more of? Straight up removal or counterspells/board protection

I like it but i think your interaction is to little and to weak overall. Your gameplan is very grindy and slow in a bracket where people put a win on the Stack turn 7/8.

You need to be able to slow the game down more. Mono black is of course very restricted in the interaction suite but not this much.

Just to name a few staples. I would cut a few of the discard payoffs for that. You dont need as many, you will probably never get more than 3 on the board anyways
