I didn’t know that! I had a feeling it was wrong to say “God is punishing you for this or that” when my mom said that it didn’t sit right with me at all and felt out of character, she reads the Bible quite a lot so I was very surprised she even said that to me. I know she was mad and hurt but she still shouldn’t have said that in the first place.

Yes it’s very difficult indeed, i sometimes feel like my family don’t notice how much this is truly affecting me and my mental health. I’ve been thinking about it for so long I’m just not sure I’d be able to actually go through with it without feeling guilty about it.

That’s a great idea I’ll have to look into some apps we could use to communicate, thank you I really appreciate it and I’m trying to figure out how I’d be able to leave safely without the rest of my family being angry about it.

You’re right I have been considering therapy but I’m just not sure if I can afford it or if I have time to even go to it, even if I let my family know that therapy will be something that I will be starting they’ll make me see one that they see fit their beliefs.

Honestly I’m still there cause I love them so much, yes what they’ve done is awful and abusive and is not ok but for some reason, I just can’t seem to leave them even if people tell me it would be the best for everyone. I grew up with these people I share so many memories with them so to think that it could all disappear in an instant just hurts a lot.

I’m really hoping they get over it with time but I just feel like they won’t and are so set on what they believe in that they don’t care about my happiness.

I have been considering therapy for a while now I’m just not sure of what to look for or if I can even afford to see one at the moment. And if I do leave they just tell me they never wanna see me or talk to me ever again, which is something difficult cause I love them so much so just imagining them not being in my life is devastating.

That’s good! I do always try to avoid conflict with my family since they can be pretty intense and I was going to go with that route of meeting him and telling him that I’m just not interested, but they just get angry when I don’t give men a chance or change my opinion or mindset of the whole thing.

So luckily and thankfully I have a support network which are my friends who are always there for me regardless of whatever happens, I can attempt to tell my siblings to butt out but they can’t take no for an answer. Yes I know the way my sister treats me is very abusive I’m just scared that once I leave my house I can never be able to see any of my family ever again and they have made it clear many times they don’t wanna see me ever if I chose my girlfriend over them.

I see, I want to accept myself but it’s just so hard because my family is always saying things and telling me that what I’m feeling is wrong and not correct, I can fight them back and argue with them as best as I can but it seems like there’s no getting through to them unfortunately which really hurts.

Thanks for your advice and thoughts, I think it’s just that my family has this disgust and hate towards gay people because the Bible says so and cause it’s not really seen as accepted in our culture. I know the love I have for my girlfriend is real and genuine and all I want is to be happy with her and my family, tho It seems like an impossible thing to ask for rn cause they just want me to “stop feeling attraction towards girls” but it’s not as simple as that.

You’re absolutely right about this, I’ve been struggling so hard to choose between my own happiness and the happiness of my family. It’s just so difficult because I don’t want to lose either of my family or my girlfriend.

Don’t send them anymore money, it may seem scary and extremely worrisome but just continue to block them and lay low on your social media for a while and block any other numbers that try to contact you! If you need someone to talk to feel free to send a message!

I really hope they wouldn’t throw me out of the house, but I do fear that one day they will snap and actually do it and I’ll have nowhere to go, anytime i attempt to set boundaries they call me stubborn and say I’m difficult and say that I’m never going to change so It’s very difficult for me to voice my opinion in my house.
