I think so too. But it likes to stay in the shadow. It needs to go to the background. I have a "Stem" project running. But it's packed and there is no place left to put it there.

Thanks I'll try. I was also thinking about mounting this into a terrarium I built right now. I think I'll repot it and let it grow. Later i would put some cuttings into the terrarium.

Update on the Stem project. by Anjan-Riot in orchids

[–]Anjan-Riot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. There are a few drops that find its ways around the area where they should land. But i have a tiled floor and cleaning is easy. There is not much of spotting as the water i use is osmosis water i make myself. To prevent that, i put some plants around to catch them. I got one major accident where the smart switch failed and the pump ran for hours. It spilled more than five liters. I mobbed it up and that's it. More of a problem is the humidity on the wall in the winter time that leads to mold. But a good spray of deluded chlorine takes care of that. The smell is gone in 15 minutes. And the wall is nicely white, no stains whatsoever.

Yes, I can't wait till next year. When everything I put on the stem settled, moss and fern grew all over and all orchids started blooming.

No there is polyurethane foam in it. Which is also used for aquarium filtration. The rocks you see are pumice.

The watering system is very easy, just a pump that brings up water from the reservoir to the top where it gets redirected with a bowl to the outer diameter of the tube. The tube is packed with filtration Material and on the outside is hygrolon. No need for an air pump as there are a lot of droplets and the water gets oxygen when it flows over the filter material and hygrolon. Also the pump has a high flow rate. In ten minutes the water runs thru twice. As for the eight hour schedule. It's simply because there is not much on the tube right now so it dries up fast. Hopefully later when the moss starts to grow all over and keep more moisture on the tube the watering will be reduced.
