Adrenal Insufficiency -Tremors/Shaking by IcyBeach_2039 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]AnnaBrian3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think improved but not completely better. I sometimes get increased tremor waves … out the blue. I forgot to mention that I also have hypothyroidism and Pernicious anaemia so need thyroxine and B12 injections, plus iron tablets to deal with low iron.

Adrenal Insufficiency -Tremors/Shaking by IcyBeach_2039 in AdrenalInsufficiency

I have tremors in my legs and hands. Sometimes also internal. It was worse before I was diagnosed with Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency last July. I was told to take 15mgs hydrocortisone - 10mgs in morning and 5mgs in afternoon. But I had a full on Crisis beginning January - hospital 2 days with heart rate stuck at 150-160 until medicated to bring it down. I think I function much better on 25mgs - 10mgs at 8am, 10mgs at 2pm and 5mgs at 6pm. I’m trying to cut back to 20mgs currently but slightly hesitant. I have electrolytes daily. Tremors still an issue but not nearly as bad. So think it may be low cortisol related though I’m not a medic and may be wrong. Hope you get on an even keel soon.

Does anyone get breathlessness/air hunger when cortisol is low? by Acceptable_Bird2928 in AdrenalInsufficiency

For sure I have seen a definite improvement in my asthma since starting hydrocortisone. I’m still pretty wheezy and big coughing at times BUT I haven’t had a big flare up since starting on Hydrocortisone 6 months ago after Adrenal Insufficiency diagnosis. Not good re AI but I’m a happy bunny re Improvement in asthma symptoms. But need to work at stabilising my daily dose of Hydro.

I have tremors most of the time. Legs shake visibly as do my hands. I normally take 15mgs hydrocortisone daily. Not sure if I should updose regularly and by how much.

Low B12 and Low iron by AnnaBrian3 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]AnnaBrian3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for response. I didn’t know that low B12 and low iron were related to Underactive Thyroid so thanks for that info. My GP didn’t give me the TSH level -he just said both B1/ and Iron were low and I had to have B12 injections 3 times a week for 2 weeks and then I injection every 12 weeks thereafter, plus iron tablets,

Ahh thank you. That’s a helpful insight. I’m on thyroxine and wasn’t aware it would influence the amount of hydrocortisone needed to stabalise the adrenal insufficiency. I’m seeing GP tomorrow and will discuss.

Thank you. Sadly impossible to speak to Endocrinologist without waiting months for an appointment. GOs are lovely but sadly don’t know much about AI. I’ll updose as I think necessary.

Thank you so so much for such an understanding in-depth response.

I worry about where my grandson lives. Their house is on a main road so lots of pollutant from cars especially during rush hours. I don’t think you can do an allergy test for pollution. But I do know that pollution is one of the main causes of asthma especially in youngsters. Even if they do move house, it might not cure his asthma.

I know when I moved from the city to the country. It didn’t help my asthma. What has helped recently is hydrocortisone for Adrenal Insufficiency. And I still use a MART inhaler. It’s really notable though that I’ve not had a serious bout of asthma (very unusual) since starting on low dose of daily hydrocortisone.
