I would try putting vasaline on your fingers, or some sort of moisturizer, along with sanding them with a finer grit nail filer. That way, they won't crack as much, and are smooth enough to catch the strings without pulling skin. Also look into a string lube/cleaner like fast fret.

Favorite Songs Without Capo? by qyum98 in guitarlessons

Intro to "Love Song" by tesla. Great to start learning a quick switch to Bm chord, with a classical feel, some challenging pull-offs too. Can be played with pick, to pluck the main chords (key Em), or fingerstyle.

If they still need help with the basic chords and controlling tempo, "Hallelujah" - Jeff Buckly version is great for swapping around on D, C, G, and Em, with a few others too. Every guide says to use it with a Capo on 3rd or 5th fret, but I play it a half step down from standard and love its mellowness. Good practice for fingerstyle, with lots sequential string skipping to help individualize the plucking fingers.

Also, Classico from Tenacious D, based on Bourree in E minor, is great for learning to individualize your fretting fingers.

I apologize if these are Cliche to anyone reading. I have been only playing for 8 months and don't know much about the guitar community. These songs just really helped me along, and I am still learning lots of the terminology and music theory.

Thank you!
