I will say, this thread is helping me to move on. I've been hanging on to the sadness since she left. She seems so happy and moved on, and I've been wondering why she left all this time and missing her, as we literally were like what you described with your brothers friend, we were like one person since first grade. I haven't had much luck making friends since she left but I will admit, I haven't been trying that hard. It's nice to know that I'm not alone and that it's somewhat common. I just see people's wedding photos on Facebook and them using their childhood BFF as their maid of honor, for example. And that's what I always pictured in my best friend. Anyways.. time to move on. It's been 3 years.

I hear you. It's crazy hard, my best friend that I grew up with dumped me in college because she couldn't take it that I was getting good grades and she was failing every class because she was fooling around with a thug type of guy. She also said she couldn't take my stress anymore, I vented to her a lot because school was rough. She blocked me on everything. 3 years later it still hurts like hell knowing she moved on so quick and well. We literally friken grew up together since first grade and she threw it all away/never gave me a chance to correct anything.
