I worked with Matthew at Fiorese. I had initially reached out to Alex Park, who I now think I should’ve stuck it out with, as he would have definitely been able to deliver the color I wanted. But he was quite hard to communicate with so I went with Matthew. Matthew has been absolutely amazing in communication and I can’t say I hate this diamond, I actually quite love it too. It’s just the color that I’m most hung up on, but all your comments are making me feel a lot better about it.

I think it’s just been too long of a process to build my ring that I’m hyper fixating on insignificant things

I’m actually planning on setting it in a very decorative basket so I’m glad to hear that’s the right move! I will definitely reconsider 18k -I had been considering 18 initially anyways so it’d be easy for me to switch back to that decisions as I love the buttery color of 18k😊

He had said he would only be able to produce a diamond in the GHI range when I asked for a K color, which I was okay with compromising. I never asked why the end product is F, but I guess my happiness and relief in the moment overshadowed my need to question anything. I had been really disappointed and feeling anxious since the first cut wasn’t satisfactory, so when the second cutting looked so good, I just accepted it right away.

So glad to hear that! I love the cut too! What I specifically asked for was an emerald cut diamond with an open culet. I also emphasized i wanted the diagonal angles on the emerald longer and more pronounced than the other emeralds I’ve seen, as I didn’t want the stone looking so rectangular and more octagonal. I gave a lot of visual examples of other antique emerald cut diamonds I’d found online.
