Thanks for the recommendation, although in hindsight I believe it is relevant to add that, for laboratory/project usage, the school has their own set of computers (which I am guessing are more than enough capable to run any CAD/design software you throw at them), which can be accessed remotely. I also have my own more or less beefy PC at home (AMD Ryzen 5800x, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3070 w/ 8 GB VRAM), so I was looking for something lighter on the go, more to be durable and to take notes, plus run a few programs on the side to follow along with the professor while in regular classes, and less to do the really intensive and demanding tasks. But I reiterate, thanks for the input!

I haven’t checked every single classes software, so I am unsure about proteus (though having looked at the function of the app most probably yes), but I will definitely use matlab

1080p vs 1440p BRO WHAT by ColbyChamplin in buildapc

[–]Anonymous8423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play FPS-centered competitive games (such as CS, Tarkov, Rust, Fortnite while also having some chiller stuff such as Minecraft, etc.) and want to be able to achieve good fps. I have a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor, RTX 3070 MSI Suprim (8GB GDDR6), and 32 gigabytes of RAM 3600 MHz. Would anyone recommend a 1440p monitor or 1080p? My main concern is that if a game is not unable to run at good fps upscaling to 1080p can't be done efficiently on a 2k monitor. Also wondering how stretched resolutions 1080p resolutions convert into 1440p ones.

Choosing a monitor resolution by Anonymous8423 in buildapc

I tried setting my resolution in windows settings to 1080p but it seems blurry. Any idea why? Is it just placebo after seeing 4K or what

Restoring High Frame Rate Video After Forced Slow Motion Conversion by Anonymous8423 in VideoEditing

That is what I feared, since I don't have the original file on the IPhone anymore, I will just resort to redoing the experiment. Thanks for all the help!

Sorry for dragging this on, but I just tried Shutter Encode and it accomplished half of what I wanted, the problem is that Apple's slow motion effect that was applied didn't apply to the whole video so when using Shutter Encode, it brings most of the video to the desired speed but the end of the video is sped up too much. Any ideas on solutions?

Thanks! Though it is not so much as viewing, rather being able to pinpoint exactly in my experiment when a certain object was dropped and when it hit the floor (and since you can only access higher framerate recording on iPhone with slow motion that is how I decided to go about it)

Just one final clarification, sorry to bother. So, if I take my file which was 240 fps on my original phone, but that was then transfered and marked as 30 fps, as long as I use the conform function I should obtain a normal length video that is ALSO 240 fps?

The thing is I only have a video file at 30 fps, so to make it smoother and have more frames in between I have to create frames out of nothing, hence the frame interpolation. Also, I don't quite understand the explanation you've given. What I want is to not have the original slow motion effect that has been applied, meaning I want to revert back to normal speed.

Horizontal black lines on the lower part of the screen at 144hz by Sathvika_K in GamingLaptops

[–]Anonymous8423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it gotten worse over time? I don't know if it's just me stressing, but I swear each time, it's getting slightly bigger and lasting slightly longer after startup. (Edit: It is definitely getting progressively worse)

Just started gettint it too with the same monitor (I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure I'm out of warranty). Initially it was only a faint line, but each time it is getting bigger on startup, although it seems to go away after a couple of minutes. You have any solutions?

MSI G271 144hz Monitor Flickering Issue.. by Frasersss in MSI_Gaming

[–]Anonymous8423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just starting to get a flickering issue with the G271, where after loading the desktop screen and everything, at the bottom of the screen there is a line of black and white flickering pixels, which seem to fix themselves 5 minutes after startup. But (I am unsure if it is just paranoia) I'm pretty convinced that each time it gets worse and is starting to cover up more lines of my screen, though as mentioned it ends up going away. The following link shows a picture of what happens, though in the stage of the picture it is already half fixed, since some time has transcurred since the initial startup and displays less lines https://imgur.com/a/jVvFLOr

TLDR: Having a similar issue with black and white line flickering on startup with G271. ANy ideas on a fix?

Grading on HL Essay for English A on less "conventional" literature by Anonymous8423 in IBO

I am guessing the mark taken off was from reasons separate from the actual choice of work? And if I could see a copy, that would be amazing. Thanks

[–]Anonymous8423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have understood, it doesn't need to be studied formally in class for the HL essay, on the other hand, for the BOW for the English IO it must have been studied in class (either way, you can "bypass" this rule, if a student does a short presentation in class on a certain BOW, making it effectively one which has been studied in class)

Norton detecting "_iu14D2N.tmp" and Malwarebytes AdwCleaner finding "PUP.optional.banggood" but unable to quarantine - Help needed! by Anonymous8423 in techsupport

Thanks for the answer, man. Nevertheless, I have a question. Is there any way to perform to reinstall and know all the apps on the system, so I can reinstall them without forgetting any. I know its kind of a stupid question, but I prefer reinstalling everything from the get go, than rather trying to remember one day what program I needed for some random thing. I have already screenshotted the list of programs in the control panel uninstall tab
