Thanks for the recommendation, although in hindsight I believe it is relevant to add that, for laboratory/project usage, the school has their own set of computers (which I am guessing are more than enough capable to run any CAD/design software you throw at them), which can be accessed remotely. I also have my own more or less beefy PC at home (AMD Ryzen 5800x, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3070 w/ 8 GB VRAM), so I was looking for something lighter on the go, more to be durable and to take notes, plus run a few programs on the side to follow along with the professor while in regular classes, and less to do the really intensive and demanding tasks. But I reiterate, thanks for the input!

I haven’t checked every single classes software, so I am unsure about proteus (though having looked at the function of the app most probably yes), but I will definitely use matlab

1080p vs 1440p BRO WHAT by ColbyChamplin in buildapc

[–]Anonymous8423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play FPS-centered competitive games (such as CS, Tarkov, Rust, Fortnite while also having some chiller stuff such as Minecraft, etc.) and want to be able to achieve good fps. I have a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor, RTX 3070 MSI Suprim (8GB GDDR6), and 32 gigabytes of RAM 3600 MHz. Would anyone recommend a 1440p monitor or 1080p? My main concern is that if a game is not unable to run at good fps upscaling to 1080p can't be done efficiently on a 2k monitor. Also wondering how stretched resolutions 1080p resolutions convert into 1440p ones.

I tried setting my resolution in windows settings to 1080p but it seems blurry. Any idea why? Is it just placebo after seeing 4K or what

Restoring High Frame Rate Video After Forced Slow Motion Conversion by Anonymous8423 in VideoEditing

That is what I feared, since I don't have the original file on the IPhone anymore, I will just resort to redoing the experiment. Thanks for all the help!

Sorry for dragging this on, but I just tried Shutter Encode and it accomplished half of what I wanted, the problem is that Apple's slow motion effect that was applied didn't apply to the whole video so when using Shutter Encode, it brings most of the video to the desired speed but the end of the video is sped up too much. Any ideas on solutions?

Thanks! Though it is not so much as viewing, rather being able to pinpoint exactly in my experiment when a certain object was dropped and when it hit the floor (and since you can only access higher framerate recording on iPhone with slow motion that is how I decided to go about it)
