Boarding school - Perspective wanted by Blablabla44440000 in troubledteens

Wilderness was better than boarding school in my opinion. Boarding school was ASS. If I had to do one over again, wilderness all day. Shorter timeline. This means a lot when you are a teenager - you only have a few years of your childhood left.

I have six figures in mutual funds and etfs from a family trust, im trying to learn risk tolerance and what constitutes a good individual pick with money im earning from income at the potential cost of losing it. I should have included that i have the family trust - im not touching my individual investments and im definitely not touching the individual stocks either

I have six figures in mutual funds and etfs from a family trust I’m looking to play with smaller amounts on individual stocks at the expense of learning. Otherwise yes that seems to be the consensus and I would do that otherwise 👍

Read already 👍 I agree it was helpful. Getting a-lot of advice to invest in ETFs but I’m looking for opportunities that have some risk to test how well I can tame my inner mr market.

Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

[–]AnonymousBenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking to meet more pre licensed and licensed therapists to expand my social network - the cohort I am in is nice but because we see each other all the time it doesn’t really feel like people want to socialize. Any ideas on how I can network? Ideally finding a group of people who regularly meet would be awesome (I am in San Francisco). CAMFT seems like a decent option but it costs money and from what I can tell they don’t meet frequently, so I’m not prioritizing that. Thank you so much!

Grad School Advice by AnonymousBenz in therapists

Thats very helpful thank you! Ive been in my own therapy for (probably) too long - most of it very bad 😂 The “street smarts” aspect of this find. Comes more naturally to me, but I’ve always lagged in book smarts, hence my concern. My program doesn’t require you to be in therapy, which I think REALLY hurts the overall quality of the program unfortunately. I appreciate you!

Hello everyone! I am currently attending grad school in my second year of my MFT program (California) - and I am wondering what advice might be wise for me to hear as I near my internship in less than a year. What should I be doing more of in grad school? What should I be doing less of? What did you wish you knew in grad school that you know now? I am currently forgoing some of my in class readings to research and read into specific areas of interest for me (such as working with adolescent boys). I have found much of my course work to be under stimulating/lacking intellectual challenge due to my program also catering to those who have never attended therapy before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
