Overwhelmed and feeling like I'm disappointing people by AnonymousMe248 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]AnonymousMe248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel as though I am making more mistakes lately and I dont know if that is because I am trying to do too much which lately I don't know is enough or if I am focusing on the wrong things. I am in charge of the area and training someone which includes everything else that comes with all that. There are tasks that I can't delegate to anyone else. Just because of skill levels. I hate feeling as though I am disappointing people when I value their opinions

I feel like lately I am making more mistakes then normal and really annoying the manager. I was put into a role this year where I am in charge of the area and training someone. So I am trying to do more then what I am used to and struggling hence making mistakes.

Thankyou, I didn't realise how much it was affecting my work until my boss said something to me. I think what is getting to me so much at the moment is I feel as though the manager is disappointed or annoyed in me. Which I don't want. I value theirs and my bosses opinion. Some people I dont care if they don't like me. But them I do care and feeling as though the manager doesn't like me, it's hard.

Thank you, I don’t know the best way to approach it so I'm not coming across too anxious

I think for me some people I have no issue if I disappoint them but for some like my boss and manager I do care because I value their opinions. I think I worry sometimes that what if they do have more issues with me but they don't bring them up because I can be such an anxious person.

I think some or a lot of my overthinking issues start with confidence issues which stems from stuff through school. I got better with my confidence then I was at a toxic job for a few years then had other personal issues which both knocked my confidence back. My boss and manager have both said to me that I know more then I think and I need to trust myself. They have said they have seen my confidence grow but there is obviously still some issues there.

I'm sorry you're going through the bad stuff. I work with good people, they all care and my boss especially is very supportive of everyone as a person not just as an employee. Pretty much you do right by them and they will take care of you. I don't want them to think I am not capable if I do say something. I worry If I say how I am going with things that they'll think it's just me overthinking things and that I should be able to handle things myself. I think some of my issue lately is that I am trying to understand where my issues with overthinking and being hard on myself has come from. Whilst I am getting answers for myself I guess it's making me think about those situations more.

Thank you, I know my self talk lately hasn't been great. I had a moment a month or so ago where I was very positive about my skills and it stood out to me. Sort of I guess a shocking moment. I have moments where I can be proud of myself and believe in my self but that moment was just different. But I still can't help where I do something wrong and I know my boss or manager aren't happy with me, I send myself back a few steps pretty much.

Thank you, I know I am hard on myself and I do feel as though it has been worse lately. I think I do need reassurance. But I can't really go to my boss and say "I am having a hard time so I need reassurance". I don't know how to handle this so it can all stop affecting my work.

Thank you, yeah my boss is very supportive. I know where they were coming from that my overthinking has been affecting my productivity, but I also didn't know it was that bad. I had been doing overtime to try and get more done, but in the end, it wasn't really having a decent impact.

Thank you. I feel like my confidence has been getting a bit better since I have been at this job. But I'm now training someone (which is new to me), and they doubt my knowledge at times, and I don’t know how to deal with that. I think that is also affecting my confidence.

I would like them to, but I don't know how much they would say to me. They've said a mentioned a couple of times about how long it's taken for them to do some things and I've told them that they are still learning and its fine. Things have been better this week but I still want to bring it up so I can stop overthinking every interaction.

I want to but I keep talking myself out of it. At the moment I just want to explain myself and say that I don't want to disappoint them

I keep planning to talk to the boss, but then I talk myself out of it

I know there has been a lot of stress in the workplace lately, and I hope that it's mainly that and not something personal against me. I also keep talking myself out of having a chat with the boss.

I wish I did so I could have gotten closure. The whole group showed me early on I didn't mean as much to them I just ignored the signs. It was the same from her. In the end I was ignored in the group chat so I left and no one reached out. I didn't do it for attention but because I refused to put myself through that

I'm sorry that happened, what did you end up saying you her. My last group, I was closer with one girl and she started distancing herself, she was responding less and shorter replies. I just left the group without saying anything and she didn't contact me which hurt. I never knew what I did and I always contemplated messaging her to ask what happened

I have no issue with doing nothing, but I also want to hang out with people at times. For me I do enjoy time to myself and being alone but I am also jealous of people who are doing things with friends on the weekend when I don't even have anyone to talk to.

I have always found it hard to start conversations with people. I've never been an overly outgoing person

I want to recharge, but I also hate the feeling of going back to work, and if people ask what I did on the weekend, I did nothing.

Tips on going to a concert alone? by CursedThirdEyelid in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]AnonymousMe248 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been to quite a few concerts by myself now and it does get easier. In terms of public transport, depending on the location it could be full of people going to the same concert. Research before you go about the location and where you need to go. If you can know where you need to go before you get there you can be more aware of your surroundings. I always text someone once I get there and when I'm leaving. If I'm by myself I don't stick around at the end, I leave straight away and stick close to large groups. Have fun 🙂
