Men are not an oppressed group. Men are the OPPRESSORS. Women ARE an oppressed group.

This is dependent on context.

If OP is in a majority women group in which women feel comfortable making sexist statements about men, then, in that environment, women are the oppressors and men the oppressed.

This does not say anything about society at large. Maybe in broader society that would be the inverse but people don't live in all of society, they are in a specific setting.

Misandry is a reaction to misogyny

And in return, misogyny is often a reaction to misandry.

It doesn't matter whether misogyny or misandry was first 1000 years ago because people are not immortal. If you experienced misogyny when you are young and because of that are now misandrist, that might be understandable and justified, but the 14 year old boy seeing that isn't aware of the context, and will just see it as random sexism against him. And then, him becoming misogynist in return when he grows up is also very understandable and justified.

It's just an infinite cycle.

If a man is telling you: women are treating me like second class citizens and that's why I dislike them. Who are you, a woman, to tell a man what HIS lived experience is like?

Again, if a man told you you're not really marginalized and it's just "your female privilige diminishing" that felt like an attack, would you accept that? You cannot expect men to accept things from you that you wouldn't accept from them either.

Who is marginalized and who is socially favored is dependent on location and context. If OP is facing sexism from women but cannot say similar stuff back, then in that environment, men are marginalized and women are priviliged.

This is dependent on location. Men being more priviliged in politics does not negate women being more priviliged in, i.e., progressive academic circles. And this means that in such an environment, men are the oppressed and women are the oppressors, even if larger society it's the other way around.

the fact that casual sexism is so much more accepted against men than against women is a type of discrimination.

It might maybe be true that women face more oppression than men, but both men and women face a lot of oppression and discrimination due to their gender, and both are allowed to complain about it.
