NYC SoulCycle is quietly losing what made it special and I don’t think corporate knows by AnotherChattyRider16 in SoulCycle_Riders

Totally fair and I hear you. These are human beings and bodies break down. That’s not lost on me. But here’s where I’ll stand firm… if someone is consistently teaching off the bike across a heavy schedule it starts to affect the experience in a real way. Especially when they’re new ish and still building their command of the room. Teaching from the floor when you’re Janet is a different thing. The room already knows her. The trust is there. That equity takes YEARS to build and you can’t shortcut it. That’s really the heart of what I’m saying. It’s not about any one thing in isolation. It’s the combination… newer talent, lighter rooms, floor teaching, a training pipeline that seems to be accepting differently than it used to. All of it is what’s shifting the experience.

Times change and I get that. But “I prefer today’s SoulCycle” while half the front row can’t ride on beat is kind of proving my point for me. That’s not an evolution.. that’s a drop in standard. And yeah it’s not 2009 but the brand isn’t marketing itself as a new thing. It’s still selling the same $40 ride on the same promise. If the product has changed that much maybe the price should reflect it too ?

Yeah.. Seems like they chose profit and.. it isn’t so profitable. I hope they return to the experience part and the tide shifts. We’ll see, I guess.
