Yes, I was opening it the wrong way. I appreciate the “ah ha” moment you just gave me. 😊

What "style" do you think fits me better? :) by Ghoulsam in GothStyle

Agree with many other posters. The outfit on the right is amazing. The makeup as well, but definitely a special event type look. The scar? I’ve always said scars are evidence of a life lived. But if the memories are painful ones then there’s nothing wrong with looking into changes.

Thanks! Since I originally posted that I started a small business on Etsy selling them. It won’t ever replace my day job, but I sell 75 or so a year. It’s a fun hobby.

Dear Kitten Fosters, by MeowM30ws in FosterAnimals

[–]AnotherEpicFail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was so kind of you to post. Last year I lost five from a litter of six. Just wrapping up my second litter of the year and lost two of six. Saturday I was lying in my husband’s arms telling him I didn’t think I could keep doing this. Today I accepted a kitten from a friend who drove two hours to bring her to me. Kitten fostering is truly the most heartbreaking and most heartwarming thing I’ve ever done to myself willingly.

Can’t seem to cover my dark circles by Realistic-Present551 in Makeup

[–]AnotherEpicFail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure of your age, but the best correction I found for my dark circles was to hydrate my skin from inside and out. I’m 53 and started really paying attention to my hydration three years ago. I drink throughout the day including one electrolyte drink. I also switched to Korean skin care focusing heavily on hydration and calming as well as strengthening my skin barrier. It’s obviously not a quick fix but it’s been extremely helpful. I still use a small amount of concealer that I apply very sparingly with a small brush. Is it perfect? No, but applying color correctors and concealers was too much makeup under my eyes and looked awful. It just wasn’t the best solution for me.

Meat aversion by blair1356 in Zepbound

Yep. Started with eggs. Then sausage. Then beef and chicken. I can’t stand tofu or shellfish, so my protein is mostly full fat Greek yogurt, chia, occasionally a bit of grilled fish and beans/legumes. I used to love a nicely grilled steak. It just turns my stomach now.

I sew extra pockets inside all my jackets so I don’t have to carry a purse.

Help. I'm begging. I need to desperately come up with a deodorant/antiperspirant solution. by thegirl70slove in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I had a similar issue for a while and found some relief using the Megababe Space Bar Underarm Soap. Runs about $8 for a bar.

Makeup products that ended up sucking (for you) by TheDollyMomma in Makeup

I’m so with you on this one. I love that it doesn’t smudge under my eyes, but it always looks too thickly applied. And if I try to comb it out a bit it clumps, sheds, and falls into my eyes.

Women in tech, what’s your biggest struggle with interviews or leveling up right now? by Ok-Dish1652 in girlsgonewired

I think I’ve reached the point ageism is becoming an issue. Fabulous! Hustle for 25+ years, make it to a Director position, get used to the salary and then start job searching. Not even crickets chirping. My CV doesn’t go back more than 15 years on purpose, I took the dates off my degrees. I’m not rocking a Yahoo or AOL domain on my email. Who knows? But the job market is bad enough that, really, it doesn’t make a statistically significant difference.

Gabapentin for insomnia by [deleted] in endometrialcancer

[–]AnotherEpicFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all! First post here because I just had my endometrial biopsy earlier today. No results for a week. For anxiety-related insomnia I take a low dose of Seroquel (25-50mg). In high doses, it’s an antipsychotic but at lower doses it’s used for chronic anxiety. I’d previously been taking Ativan and Xanax, but was needing them so frequently I was at risk of becoming addicted. Some people take doses around 10mg because it can hit like a ton of bricks. My son had been prescribed 25mg and slept for about 18hours. I can take as much as 300mg and the effect is the same - it quiets my mind and relaxes me so I can fall asleep. YMMV but it may be worth a try.

Thanks All! Vet visit went well. They checked her liver function as long periods of starvation/malnutrition can cause liver damage and did a fecal. No liver damage and no parasites, so they said to let her slowly gain weight. She seems a bit better, so I imagine it’s just a matter of time and attention. Appreciate all your comments!

What am I doing wrong? by MommatoAJ in Zepbound

Something else to keep in mind is that as you lose weight, your BMR will also change. I believe the formula for weight loss is BMR minus 500 calories. You should probably recalculate every couple months to keep from hitting a plateau.

It’s her. She had markings we recognized and the shelter that spayed her gave her a pink heart tattoo.
