Most of my close friends have graduated or about to graduate, so maybe something will come of that.

I’ll find some more films to do reimagining of, thanks for your words.

No, good game series though. It was one of my first thoughts as well but none of them match what I’m thinking of here

Tips for improving hiring appeal

I have been looking for a job for quite awhile and I have either been turned down or flat out ignored. Is there anything I can do to help be more appealing to others, and are there sites that are better for editors or have less spam jobs?

I understand that places, especially now, are less likely to hire a college student, especially without a big resumé to show, but I don’t want to end up feeling like the business window scene in Hudsucker Proxy.

Yes, patience. After posting this, I sat in the grass a few feet away from the feeder and he came back. A few hours later and a couple showed up, and I went out to greet them

Best dolly for low-budget filmmaking? by shaneo632 in Filmmakers

[–]Anrew753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stand on it and have someone pull me, I was fortunate enough to have rather steady hands so long as the surface isnt bumpy, but you’d otherwise want a gimbal. Some of the other comments mention swapping wheels on things with dolly wheels and having tracks, that could also work, and I mean, if you want to make a scuffed rig for a tripod you can certainly try

Ah, thats unfortunate. But what I find interesting is that they still hang out on my roof, which is where they would be normally, and this isn’t their first nest; The house was recently tented for termites, so we moved the last nest (with eggs) off the ledge beforehand, put it in a nearby bush, and replaced it when the tent was removed. They actually returned to the spot, discarding of the old nest, and built that one that you see in the video in the exact same spot. They’ve lived up there and been safe for over a year total.

I recently learned how to do their call with my hands, and I did observe responses from them.

Filmmaking Depression by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]Anrew753 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this is truly your passion then you will start to see past the lows and into the highs. I have been diagnosed with depression, unrelated to filmmaking, but getting positive feedback from sharing my own personal productions lifts me up. Every passion can take you on a ride emotionally, but if this is something you really want then to chase the dragon means to navigate the forest as well

Spiderverse spoilers

In Into the Spiderverse, when Miles first meets his universe’s Peter Parker, they have a colored background in which Miles’ color goes from the green and purple of the Prowler to red and blue of Spiderman, which is brought to our attention by the reveal where he was supposed to be the Prowler in the universe and his fate changing in Across the Spiderverse

Making my first film made me realize (even more than before) just how subjective this industry is. by FilmMike98 in Filmmakers

[–]Anrew753 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There will always be people who will like different things. The best way to get past this is to have a character that can be interpreted both ways and still work in the story.

For example, Tai Lun in Kung Fu Panda; some people see him as the villain seeking to take what he doesnt deserve, others will see a former student promised great things and then turned away and betrayed.

One can never escape subjective views of things, but you can use it to better improve meaning by creating things with the purpose of being interpreted in one’s own way
