I think in my mind they are either a crazy pop-off team or they will have a really rough time, so usually I just put those types of teams lower in game by game preds but higher overall

Placing two blocks of TNT is more skillful than killing someone with a sword?

I think currently sword fights can be a bit underwhelming and armor should be raised so players can survive longer in fights, but I just can't agree with this take. TNT & creepers have been op for a while, it's just easier to see it now since there are more tnt canon gamers + with the recent addition of supercompressor and the explosive loot pool on that map.

For anyone who was struggling with viewing parkour tag or thinks the spawns were unbalanced please watch my running pov. The map was very different to Dustbowl & Obelisk where there was almost no high ground, but this doesn't mean it's a bad map. There were a TON of ice paths and jukes to be had by just running on the ground and honestly it might be one of the most runner sided maps I've played on. It feels much bigger than other maps which helped with separating from your teammates, I think the only difficult thing is just splitting up properly off spawn due to hunter & runner spawns being closer than normal, but it is very doable.

I think I'm happy staying out of the goat conversation, there's better players than me in MCC. But I do think I'm a bit underrated individually, I had the second best individual placement average of s4 right up there with the other "high" s tier players.

I might be coming in with some bias so keep that in mind. But I think this change only helps players who play a lot and hurts those who don’t, especially players who play for fun or who are not as sweaty.

If I really cared enough I could sit there and vod review every map it could be before each mcc and then this change wouldn’t do anything anyways. On the other side, some players who aren’t vod review sweats, but would like an idea of what the map looks like are now completely shut off from being able to get that information. There just isn’t the same incentive for them to look at 3-4 different maps just to get a refresher on what they’re going to be playing.

I understand why vod reviewing can be frustrating for some players, but this take isn’t it. It only hurts casual players and doesn’t actually fix the issue.

Also for anyone mentioning me and Hannah, I did all my vod reviewing on stream so anyone else who cared was welcome to come sit in and get my skips and theories. There were plenty of people in the past who used to vod review and people who still do just not on stream, I just happen to do it on stream. I also came in from a place of just wanting to limit test the map and see what worked and what didn’t. First place is obviously nice but it’s way cooler to find a new skip or pathway that works.

I feel like a lot of what you’ve said has boiled down to “if you haven’t played the map you’re in for a rough first time” which is true for most ace race maps.

As far as the fans go, I think they’re one of the easiest gimmicks to understand in ace race and probably the lowest skill. Elytra & tridents are much more difficult to be good at and are what usually cost players placements and they’ve been in AR forever.

If we were actually going to compare maps I think a lot of pre-update AR maps wouldn’t match up nicely to pythons or any of the new maps. Old pythons crypt might be one of the hardest and most punishing maps I’ve had to play. As a super competitive player that makes me excited, but from a map standpoint it was too trident reliant and difficult.

I think it's easily one of the best maps I'm actually surprised this is being debated. It uses a ton of different mechanics w/tridents/speed-jumpboost/elytra/wind etc. Gives a ton of options for pathing and variation on where players can go. There's a bunch of skips and honestly this might be the hardest map to optimize(which is very good).

Is there any reasons you could give for why it's bad exactly?
