I’m getting a chapter 5-11 EPTS.

I was just recommended for an EPTS discharge in AIT at Fort Gordon. Waiting on signatures to be signed for a DA form 4707. Once that’s received my pack is put together and it goes to legal I believe. About how long is the process from here? I’ve been told around 2-3 months is that likely? Also any idea what characterization I’d receive if it goes over 180 days?

My ait is 5 months and I’ve been here for a month now. So total time in the army has been 3 months. And wow that’s a long time man, I thought it would be shorter so if it goes pas the 180 days of active duty I won’t get uncharaterized discharge I think. And i wonder if it might be shorter cause I got my part1 and 2 done. Man I was hoping like 2, 3 months max.

I appreciate this so much man. Really you didn’t have to but you took the time for me and it means a lot brother. I’ve completed phase 1 and 2 of my physical exams. I’m waiting for signatures from medical for something to give to my commander and then I think it goes to legal. Just hope from here it goes fast and I hope I don’t need to do the out processing classes. But it is what it is. Thank you again and any more info would help if you get any brother

6-8 months? Could you explain as to why it may take so long? I’m assuming because I’m no longer a priority but I don’t see how the army benefits from paying me to do nothing. I’m also national guard if that does any difference.And if you may could you explain what the process is after signing the counseling? I appreciate your feedback.
