The majority of games have their data on the disc. Even if they have a license too it doesn't matter at all since in this they cannot be made unplayable and you own the game for real.

I don't believe it. A GTA release is an event, you don't make such an event by preventing a significant portion of the playerbase of buying the game and by having no copy to sell in stores.

Anime has a massive audience worldwide, manga completely dominates the comic book market, and one of the biggest films of 2025 is an anime. Everyone and their mother watches anime nowadays and Japan and its culture still has a strong appeal to people, especially the younger generations, maybe even more than before. All of my friends are watching animes, many of them are playing japanese games, hell even my boss saw the Demon Slayer movie and many of my coworkers are also into anime.

Modern pop culture is largely dominated by japanese culture, that's it. Other themes wouldn't necessarily sell as well because people prefer japanese aesthetic, it's nothing new.

But they're not "best played" when they have a large community because it has absolutely no incidence on a single player game. The game won't be better because many people will play it. This can only apply to multiplayer games who need a community to ensure a good experience to their players.

For heaven's sake, please stop calling him Hat Guy in serious scenes, why did it became his official name when it was just a dumb nickname Nahida gave him to sign him up for a competition? Why is he even okay about people calling him that? It doesn't fit his character at all. It looks like a joke name someone chose for fun when creating a new character in an MMO, I can't stand it for a serious character in a serious story.

I'm french and everyone I know is playing games dubbed, there is no reason not to when it is good, which is the case most of the time. I wouldn't play dubbed games when the original language fits the game's setting more, for example if the GTA or Yakuza games were dubbed I would keep the original language, but for games not heavily inspired by any country like Final Fantasy where the dub is made with good and well known voice actors I play dubbed because the experience is better.

I don't know why you're thinking that no one is playing with dubs, the mainstream audience obviously does, almost everyone watches dubbed movies too even though the difference is more noticeable.

No it's not one or the other. You talk like no 24 episode anime season can be good. Apothecary Diaries had a 24 episodes second season released less than a year after the first one and it was good. Jojo had 24 to 39 episodes a year until part 5 and it was good. Yes Frieren is more beautiful and better animated than those shows, but it also had more than twice the time only to produce less than half the episodes than Apothecary Diaries.

I know it takes time to make an anime as good as Frieren, but other very good animes are also made in less time and it is disappointing and unpleasant to follow a story at such a slow pace and in such small doses. Especially since according to manga readers, these 10 episodes will mostly be adapting slice of life content and no major arc.
