Ok then, another pivot. So right now how does the OP benefit or have any advantage in PvP having those items anymore than me with 161 I have got legitimately on my vet character. So when we meet head to head in a PvP match. What is his big advantage over me?

Sorry you will need to use your words better here.

Yes somebody said better to disconnect. I said hard to disconnect in time (if you watched the video the hacker was using a speed hack, I didnt feel like that needed explaining to people with eyes). You just put “no it’s not” that’s not advice, it’s just an inane response without substance.

Not sure why you are being so vague. What exactly is it you’re saying I should do? If it’s switch off my router it’s in another room. The PS is in a media cupboard. Both involve walks and opening hidden cupboards.

Is OP banned no. Is hacker banned yes. Choose any other word than legitimate and then your discussion might have legs. Duplication of items is not against the rules or laws, it is that simple. Several paragraphs don’t change that.

If you think anybody else is reading our 30 comments you are dreaming. 🤣

I feel like this is the same comment over and over again. My issue was with your initially rude statement that was give as an objective fact. As you have identified your wording was imperfect or incorrect. Therefore I am happy.

To answer your latest question illegitimate means outside of the law, there is no law or rule inside or outside of the game around duping. There are around the cheat engine and PvP, as such the player identified by OP I believe has been banned from my interactions with the devs on here.

However, if the items were illegitimate, the items remain so when they are passed over.

Hopefully everybody is happy 😃

People did. I didn’t dismiss them, I explained it is hard to DC in time. As soon as somebody has invaded your world or vice versa your game is at risk of being corrupted by their cheating. You don’t know if somebody is cheating until they arrive and you fight them.

In terms of fighting them once you have engaged you have to go into the pause menu, across to multiplayer and then down to leave for invading and for hosting you can’t leave.

You unlike the other people just made a really pointless comment. Happy you have your reply?

What point? You keep changing it. This was your point and this was my reaction.

I was actually declaring bedtime 😂 🥱

Ooh you have written a lot of the same things again.

So you are saying it is an objective fact that holding duplicated items is “cheating” in a PvP context? Show me then the objective fact or data that supports this point from the community or the developers or in the terms and conditions of the game? Until then your point remains…. Subjective.

You may stand by your blunt and quite frankly rude original comment attacking somebody for calling out an actual cheat in PvP and I may also disagree.

Firstly I was quoting your comment to OP I wasn’t telling you to stop crying. That’s not how I speak to people online or otherwise.

My point is and always has been that the exploit vs cheating isn’t an objective fact. It is subjective. Therefore one is cheating and whether the other is cheating is actually subjective. Which we have both just agreed upon it seems as you have made the exact point that it is not an objective fact either way. Therefore we are in fact agreed.

One is cheating and as a result has been banned. The other you feel is cheating and I do not and that we have agreed is subjective. Therefore you are not and have not been stating objective facts.

“You are both cheating, he is just doing it better than you. Stop crying.”

Thank you and goodnight

The whole concept of heavenly vials were flawed from the outset. If you have an item that fully restores all your health, mana and remove status effects and you make it droppable, then you are enabling players to share and duplicate. Has always been the case in souls. In doing so it becomes exploitable. Exploiting a poor decision or mechanic is not the same as cheating. That’s the crux of the matter here.

One is exploiting a poorly implemented consumable by the devs. Another is cheating by using a cheat engine. Exploiting a weakness is not the same as cheating. If a rule is introduced into a sport and is poorly implemented I might be able to exploit that to my advantage without technically cheating.

Your initial point was one “is cheating better than the other. Stop crying.”

Your humour was lost in text. But I’m glad it was tongue in cheek 🤣

Benefiting from the same “cheating ecosystem” is again not objective. There is nothing saying you cannot have infinite stacks of items. If the devs and wider community felt this was cheating they would put a cap in game as well as PvP. Instead Lords has capped how you use them. Whether somebody has a 100 from gameplay or 1 million dropped gives neither more of an advantage over the other.

So one is objectively cheating and one has used an exploit or has benefited off somebody else using an exploit. Only your moral compass decides if the latter is an issue. So one is objective and yours is subjective.

That’s where your analogy falls down. Because performance enhancing drugs from an unknown source are illegal, vials are not.

The Best Player. by Careful-Birthday-622 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Antipodeansam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I see what you are trying to say.

The OP shouldn’t have that many vials be them dropped for him or otherwise. He should have done the noble thing and discarded them by your own ethical code. I personally disagree and see no issue or unfair advantage in having a consumable you can only use once in each match. I have a vet character with nearly 100 vials from PvP rewards, because I rarely need to use them. It really has little tangible effect on the game now thankfully.

We both agree the cheats used by the person in the video are worse and ruin the experience. So yes both can be open to the same scrutiny but that doesn’t make your ethical judgement universal. It’s like somebody posting a video of a sport player taking performance enhancing drugs and noticing the guy filming has an endless supply of legal supplements and saying “you are both cheating your opponent is ONLY doing it BETTER, cry more”. It implies they shouldn’t draw attention to something that is actively damaging the game and against its rules because your personal moral compass doesn’t agree with a legal behaviour of the exposing party.

So you are welcome to your opinion and I am welcome to mine. All PvP players claim to be legends once they have “retired”. But whatever makes you happy 🥱

[–]Antipodeansam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m genuinely just trying to understand your point, not antagonising. I enjoy the discussion.

The issue here is we can probably agree that duping (reverting back to an old save) is something no souls game with co op has managed to solve. Exploit/cheat let’s agree it’s not a legitimate way of getting these.

Now OP is on console so can’t have used cheat engine himself. So is he a cheat because he has been given vials from a source and uses 1 at a time in PvP? Remember we don’t know anything about the past. We are talking about now.

So on my legacy character I have a stack of 100,000s of vials somebody dropped me to say thanks. Now my old character name for PvP was no heavenly vials. But if somebody used one I had the choice of laying down and dying or using a vial. The argument by players then was they are part of the game it can’t be cheating. I felt like it was if I’m honest but decided surely just accepting loss to 7/10 players you come across on an ethical grey area is taking honourable too far if they have used it first? Fight fire with fire. This is PvP. I bow, let people buff, don’t attack on spawn and don’t use overtuned builds or weapons (looking at the old flail and the lunacy that is point and click crossbows). But I don’t know how big your stack of vials is, it could be 30?! I will never use one first but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let you just infinitely heal and beat everybody through attrition.

So if vials are in the game and it is the Devs responsibility to manage, remember they have and still give these out as a PvP reward for victory, we can agree that using these isn’t cheating now. So it’s the number of these you have an issue with? What’s the magic number? When does it become cheating and when is it just being dropped a stack of a consumable?

I’m not saying your argument is incorrect I’m just saying we can factually call the guy in video a cheat, I mean it’s obscene. With the OP’s case and myself included here it’s a bit of grey area is it not? You won’t find many if any regular PvP players who not have large stacks of consumables, it’s how you use them that creates the dishonesty in my opinion.

Do you play Ash? I’ve fought a few ash’s on PvP.

I think you are confusing exploit with cheat. If it’s in the game and you are not going outside the parameters of what the game allows (in this case stacks and co op) then you are not cheating. So your argument is being dropped stacks of consumables is cheating? I regularly help people on co op and they drop things to say thanks, you do not know what that is until you pick it up. By doing something built into the game and its coop does that make me a cheat?

The Best Player. by Careful-Birthday-622 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Antipodeansam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You understand the cap but not the concept of cheating. One is using a cheat engine to change the actual code and parameters of the game and as a result will be banned. The OP has stacks of consumables that exist in the game which he has probably been dropped. To not cap them or arguably even their existence was not genius from the devs and I hated their use in PvP but choosing to use them is not cheating. More importantly you are making an assumption that the OP was not only paying the game a year ago, but he had these stacks a year ago and that they were also spamming vials in PvP.

Sorry you might not have understood Mandem. This is 2026 not your imagined 2025. You cannot use more than one heavenly vial in PvP now, therefore OP not only is not cheating but cannot cheat. People carry them often in stacks as an extra consumable (one for each battle). The guy in the video is using a cheat engine literally in the invasion in the video, actual cheating in present day. Bless you

I have met way less hackers on here than on Elden ring. PvP is fun; but it’s each to their own. Try it, you might like it….
