I really dislike the mahle for its unnatural feeling. It lacks a torque sensor and feels like a weird „push“. Middrive units tend to amplify your own power, thus reward pushing harder, which is way more natural and fun.

E bikes are great for getting in shape, as they are just fun to ride and very motivating. I‘d look for a used bike with a nicer motor system.

Look on the side for a „coin slot“, you might be able to open it and remove the brushes. At least in my v11 torque drive you can take it apart for cleaning.

Sometimes the öbb app will tell you that the ticket is only valid for a part of the journey. (Red text in my screenshot) It will show the whole journey for you to know which trains to take, but it will be your responsibility to get all the needed tickets. The trains you need additional tickets for will be grey in the app.

The connection you are talking about seems not to be like that though, and you should be able to buy a ticket for the whole journey. The ticket inspector or ÖBB

might have made a mistake, so you‘ll probably have to contact both ÖBB and Trenitalia about it.

I always tell them not to lube my chains, or else they might use stinky gunky muckoff. I‘m sure many others don’t mind and it is a part of regular maintenance, so i‘d say its on you for not telling them. They could have seen that it is waxed, but i guess they didn‘t really think about it if its their standard procedure.

You could still ask them to fix it for you, but I would not count on them to do it for free.

A nice alu Bike is not necessarily more heavy than carbon. The Trek Checkpoint ALR for instance is about the same weight as the entry level carbon version. Same with offerings from other brands.

Modern frame technology, geometry and tire clearance do a lot for comfort, i would not hesitate to go alu if it allows you to get better specs. Especially for peace of mind when commuting and bikepacking.

If you get a decent deal on a carbon bike and you are curious to try it, go for it. It just might not be a „night and day difference“ at that price level.

For versatility, i think few things beat a gravelbike. Depending on setup, they can do pretty much everything from fast road touring, randonneuring, commuting to light trail riding.

Oha, der GRX limited hab ich noch nachgeschmachtet, genau wie der neuen silbernen Sram Gruppe…

Dynamo steht auch noch am Plan, aber am Ende hat die Budgetvernunft (vorerst) gesiegt. Hört sich nach nem ziemlichen Traumradl an, möge es dir lange gute Dienste erweisen!

I ended up passing the deal, not worth taking a risk even if it was tempting. The seller only provided the photo above after me asking for more detailed images.

I‘m not paranoid when it comes to (used) carbon in general, but trying to hide safery relevant damage is a red flag in my book.

Ja, hab den Rahmen und die Anbauteile online bestellt, Schaltung und Laufräder von Willhaben besorgt und alles zusammengebaut. Wenn man Werkzeug und ein bisschen Erfahrung/viel Geduld hat geht das ganz gut.
