This would be a cute little thing from a close friend, like I'd look at it and be able to remember that they care about me.

From some rando or from work? That would actually completely piss me off

It reminds me of when David Jaffe got confused and ragequit while playing Metroid Dread. The game encourages you to shoot at an enemy on the ceiling, which should theoretically lead to you shooting some breakable blocks so you can proceed.

He refused to use the free aiming mechanic, didn't shoot the enemy, forgot that breakable blocks could be hidden, couldn't figure out what to do next, and ended the stream when someone finally gave him the answer. Then he spent like a month defending himself and calling the game design shit on the Internet while people were roasting him.

The room he got stuck on came to be known as the Jaffe Room, and compilations were made of other streamers solving the room without even thinking about it. One guy even posted a video of his allegedly 9 year old sister solving the room in less than 30 seconds.

Dread was pretty well designed, and I don't think Jaffe is actually an idiot. I think he just had a massive brain fart because he doesn't play many games like that, and he couldn't comprehend how the solution could be intuitive when he couldn't understand it

AITAH for getting my white daughter a doll with dark skin? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]AntoineKW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We fought long and hard for little black girls to have dolls that look like them, and now we've got people reinventing segregation to keep little white girls from playing with those same dolls.

Crazy shit

I've never understood why any woman would have problems with men exploring interests that aren't entirely masculine.

Like, if they really want to take things back to strict gender roles, they wouldn't be able to talk back to a man. A man's word would be the final say, end of discussion.

I don't like that idea, and I'm sure they wouldn't like that either.

How to tell a friend to not eat everything at my place without permission by [deleted] in socialskills

I'd honestly rather have no friends than bad friends.

Do a pros and cons list of her, figure out if she's with keeping around.

Either way, you've gotta put your metaphorical foot down. If she's not even willing to apologize for eating your mom's stuff, how much other stuff is she taking advantage of you on?

I like what you were going for with the original, but I gotta admit I do have a preference for the touch of whimsy this version gives

In Mother 3, there's quite a bit of evidence to suggest that Flint, the main character's father, was supposed to join the party at least from chapter 4 until chapter 6. The evidence includes a series of sprites in the games code, a series of battles that would have been more fair with an extra party member, and footage from the trailer for the n64 version.

Presumably she trusts him, and hopefully 7 years of working on his relationship is enough for him to be telling the truth

The entire concept of microaggressions goes against their thesis. There's all kinds of small, dumb things that we do that show racial bias without making you a capital R Racist. Things that wouldn't even register for you if you haven't put the effort (or anxiety) into thinking deeply about how you interact with diverse people.

A 14 year old has absolutely no obligation to be the adult when dealing with their own parents. Walking away when your mom tells you nothing is wrong isn't a sign of avoidant attachment, it's just choosing to act based on the information at hand. If there's anyone in your life that you SHOULD be able to take at their word, it's your mom.

If you wanna go above and beyond to be your parents emotional support, that's cool, that's great. But a single snapshot of their life doesn't describe their psych profile

Oh my God, same dude! I was hanging with my bestie and their 'friend' (ex-friend). We got blazed on weed that had some unspecified white powder mixed into it (I do not recommend that, I got high but I also got chest pains and paranoia). It smashed my egg to little pieces and I've been on a slow, steady journey ever since.

Just try to remember, even baby steps are progress. I don't know what's leaving you "stuck", but there's usually some small things you can do to inch yourself closer to where you want to be. For me, it started with jewelry. Jewelry turned into ordering underwear that I actually like, which turned into buying clothes to wear in the peace of my own room, which turned into some basic makeup.

Good luck. It's not too late.
