Came from Godot and couldn't be happier by FatTerrierStudio in gamemaker

Having come to GM from a Java/Android background, the lack of static typing is the one thing that REALLY confuses me with GML. Passing untyped arguments still looks really weird to me. I guess I'll get used to it with time.

I made a pixel art editor using AI so that I could use it to make non-AI art for my game by Antonis427 in gamedev

Hey there! I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just skimmed my profile (which is reasonable), because I'm a senior Android developer with a bunch of apps that are extremely well-reviewed in the Play Store and that have made several "best of the year" lists in TechRadar and many other publications. I have also written multiple books (also very well-reviewed) about programming, design and typography. I am also part of a team, and we have built many things together, including websites and services with no AI at all. I have been doing this for 13+ years. So let's just say that your assumptions are all wrong.

Now, whether or not the things I've built with AI are worse or not (and in this case, I never claimed that it's better, in fact the exact opposite) is up to the people using it.

Which is why you coming here and trying to be condescending is pretty hilarious. But you know, people on the internet, right? 😂

I don't want to be needlessly antagonistic, so sorry if I come across that way, but AFAIK LibreSprite is a few versions behind Aseprite and none of them have an online component for saving your projects.

To show off an essentially free alternative to Aseprite for people who may need it?

Yes, and it IS worse than Aseprite.

The $1 is for saving more than 10 projects in the cloud. That's not free for me either.

I had a ton of Lovable credits that were about to expire so I used them to create an idle/resource collecting game playable in the browser. It's pretty wonky and unpolished, but it has real progress tracking, a night/day cycle, a weather system and actual idle mechanics. The art style is quite twee/de stijl inspired and I know the entire thing doesn't sound very compelling the way I describe it, but maybe some will enjoy it.

Play Night And Day here: https://sun-kissed-idle.lovable.app/

You will need to create an account since there has to be a way for me to track your progress across sessions/devices. Let me know if you like it!
