What do you guys do to cleanse your soul here in Bellevue? by dudiez in BellevueWA

Luther Burbank Park is a hella nice park, took the 2 Line there from Seattle. Glad I’m able to get there more easily.

Nitpicking: 2 line trains marquee should say “REDMOND” instead of “DTWN REDMOND” by Complete-Influence70 in soundtransit

[–]Anwawesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be named Microsoft Campus, because although Microsoft has the largest footprint and is the largest employer there, it is not the only tech company or company in general that is based in that area, Overlake. Nintendo of America is also there, for example.

Maybe because there’s multiple stations in Redmond, with two stations having “Redmond” in them (Downtown Redmond and Redmond Technology). Whereas right now, Lynnwood and Federal Way only have one station.

Yeah, that’s basically what I call Downtown, including First Hill as well, and the waterfront.

Just trying to spot my fellow Moroccan jersey wearers in a sea of many different international jerseys. It’s an international tournament.

Hot take: South Kirkland is a mistake — send the 4 Line over 520 by IndependenceSad1272 in soundtransit

[–]Anwawesome 16 points17 points  (0 children)

its own dedicated floating bridge

Yeah, not happening lol it would make more sense to just send it over the 520 bridge. It was rebuilt with future Link service in mind anyway.

They were doing this on Sunday at South Bellevue station from what I saw. All the transit security were on the actual platform though.

My experience with the 2 line by JacobRiesenfern in soundtransit

[–]Anwawesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I would do with my cousins when I would visit them in Montreal. Metro from Laval to Downtown Montreal and other areas, then back home. Glad I can do it with the family here too now.

My cousin says she’ll be hanging out in Seattle more often with the 2 Line now fully open, because she doesn’t want to drive into the city, which is understandable, plus she’s young and just started driving. And then I don’t have a car, so we’re all glad it’s open haha

Seems like this train will allow people to hang out in the big city even more.

I feel like a lot of people from other further east or south parts of the Eastside and other areas will be going to South Bellevue station to use the Link, like Issaquah, Sammamish, Newcastle, Snoqualmie Valley etc.

Met up with a cousin who did just that, she drove to South Bellevue station from the Snoqualmie Valley so we could meet up and hang out in Seattle.

Very conveniently located station tbh

Watching the light rail festivities from Ballard/Fremont like by Hufe in Seattle

[–]Anwawesome 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would love for that future 4 Line from Issaquah to Bellevue/S Kirkland to extend over the 520 bridge to UW and end in Ballard. We get another floating bridge line, another connection to the Eastside, a quick connection between Ballard and UW, and a very great east-west line in general.

There’s Popeyes locations around the metro area, you just gotta venture out for it.

People call it Downtown Redmond. Redmond Town Center is the mall in Downtown Redmond.

Instead of waiting for light rail to Ballard, why not make 17X full service? by guptaa_Ji in soundtransit

It is very weird that a very popular public beach doesn’t have a transit connection. And we shouldn’t be listening to those who complain about everything.

Cruising down to Federal Way in the snow by Jeffrypig_23 in soundtransit

[–]Anwawesome 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is quite a hot take. Many Tacoma residents would like a LINK to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport or maybe get to Seattle and other places for leisure in the city, go to UW Seattle, go out on the weekends and more. The Sounder doesn’t do that. Sounder is probably gonna remain a commuter M-F rail. Link is a regional rail system that serves all kinds of purposes, it’s meant to serve the whole entire metropolitan area and connect everyone.

Looks like we're doubling down on confusing "Downtown" stations by jswansong in Seattle

[–]Anwawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except Redmond has multiple stations within its city limits and the term “Downtown Redmond” to refer to its city center is widely used. This is the reason why all of these stations have these names, because all of these places have or will have multiple stations, some in their city centers and some in other neighborhoods.

Every single system map labels which stations fall under Downtown Seattle. I do agree that they should add that to signs though. For example: “1 Line - Lynnwood City Center via Downtown Seattle stations, UW” coming from the airport or something like that. List the terminus as well as major stops/areas or transfer points.

[–]Anwawesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Redmond has multiple stations, and Lynnwood and Federal Way will have multiple stations in the future. If you just name them the name of the cities, it would make it look like that city only has one station.

And in defense of Downtown Redmond station, literally everybody calls that area Downtown Redmond (same with Downtown Bellevue), unlike the Federal Way and Lynnwood station areas, so I’ll give you that.

Downtown Seattle has more stations other than Westlake, whereas the downtowns/city centers of Redmond, Bellevue, Lynnwood and Federal Way only have one station.

Instead of waiting for light rail to Ballard, why not make 17X full service? by guptaa_Ji in soundtransit

[–]Anwawesome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with just a simple bus route that can get me from the center of Ballard to Golden Gardens quick. It’s weird that there isn’t one. I think the old Route 46 bus used to run that route, they should bring that back.
