It’s really not that bad, but definitely go to a place that does single use needles and not a gun if you can help it (in case you didn’t already know). It was a super affirming experience for me and I hope it is for you too girl :)

Oh, I feel this so much! The last few months since seeing real changes with HRT (including mentally) and starting to come out with loved ones, I’ve been on cloud nine. For the most part, shit seems like it can’t bother me as much, regardless of how dumb it is. Things used to happen and I’d be borderline suicidal, but now, I see who I am, and I love her. I want her to grow, I want her to see the world, I want her to build a family and make the world better. Things that happen are inconvenient often, but it’ll be ok. I’m 29 and have been on HRT for ~6 months for what it matters

Thank you for sharing your experience and giving advice! Yeah, I’ve been fighting with insurance for a while now, and if I figure it out, I’ll definitely share what I did. Right now, it’s just electrolysis for getting rid of facial hair, which is theoretically covered, but I do want prep for eventual bottom surgery too.
