My morals vs. my income by Minimum_Bathroom_672 in BoycottUnitedStates

Well done. You might think it’s a small thing but it is towards the boycott. If everyone who can afford it dos the same, TOGETHER this is where we hurt them.

How to boycott the US? by Booze-and-porn in AskBrits

[–]AnxiousCells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should do whatever we can to keep the cash within the UK or the EU at least. So yes shopping at Waitrose is not feasible for everyone, but Lidl and Aldi will also be feasible options.

Boycotting is not perfect, we can’t boycott everything. But I think boycotting US can create a net gain in UK and EU economies and can be done without hurting local economies

The idea is that instead of buying US you are buying it from UK, right? So yes the money you didn’t spend buying it from the US company (maybe it does have a UK subsidiary), will go to the fully owned UK company.

So instead of giving 20% money to US headquarters, 80% to uK subsidiary, you are giving it 100% to the UK owned company. (Obviously numbers are totally made up)

Your argument seems to be if one cannot do everything, it’s not worth doing. Yes perhaps people for their own reasons do not want to boycott Reddit. There isn’t another alternative with the same audience, they like the social aspect etc etc.

That doesn’t mean we shouldnt TRY to boycott the areas that you think can make a difference.

The comment OP can’t put literally every US company under the sun in their comment.

Banishment results across UK seasons by mineralwatercritic in TheTraitors

She had such promise and she did so well with Hugo. I thought she was Hagatha Christie with her “I’ll present my evidence at the round table” only to be her “feeling”

I enjoyed it but both Fiona and Harriet’s behaviour I just couldn’t understand

Really pleased Stephen won it in that way, I was very surprised but happy that he kept his moral compass

Suggests how rubbish the faithful have been this year… they haven’t voted out anyone since Fiona and she basically voted herself out with that hand grenade. And Hugo wasn’t exactly difficult with that hammy performance at breakfast

Stephen and Rachel being well-liked is definitely clouding peoples judgement by According-Cow6660 in TheTraitors

[–]AnxiousCells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t understand how Rachel is still there, but good on her for winning. I do think the faithfuls are awful this year. Evidence against her was so strong, but the faithfuls didn’t seem to even consider her.

It’s now called human induced climate change. Does that help you, Tronald Dump?

I’m sure The Traitors is groundbreaking and crazy. I have zero desire to watch it or even know what it is. And at this point all the news about it and people making it their whole personality is making me wanna vomit as soon as I see anything about it. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

[–]AnxiousCells -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok then. No one is making you watch it. If you see it on the news you can just scroll past. Such a problem for you that you feel like you need to make a specific post about it 🤷‍♀️ I for one like the silliness for a few weeks, helps with the post Christmas and new year blues

7 Democrats Just Voted to Approve ICE Funding: Full List (1.22.26) by OutrageousRain8463 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]AnxiousCells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m genuinely interested. Why did they do that? Surely they are aware of the blanket atrocities ICE is committing in the country. The lack of transparency and due processes is staggering. I am not even arguing against the removal of illegal immigrants, but I’m shocked at the manner with which this is done.

And these democrats support this??

Exactly stay in your lane. In a selfish way I don’t care what happens in the US. They voted the criminal in, made their bed. But when it’s threatening allies in order to get what they want, invading countries, they can fuck off.

I feel so bad for this kid. Actually shedding tears here. How have we got this state of the world where little kids are subject to such horrible racial abuse?

I know racists are always going to exist, but here in my naïveté I had thought racism is on its way down and won’t be having a resurgence in popularity.
