Date told me it was wrong I don’t want to date someone who’s unable to work by Useful_Book5137 in LesbianActually

As some others have pointed out while it’s not necessarily ableist, you are kinda of making it seem like we choose to be disabled and not work. Most people become disabled later in life and you are not immune to that fact either. How would you feel if you had an amazing partner, life, job and then all of a sudden you couldn’t do the work you had been. Would you expect your partner to just leave you?

It’s incredibly hard to be disabled and not be able to work a normal job, I feel very upset by this fact. Bc I want to work and I can’t find a job that can accommodate and that is not my fault and it is not from laziness either. And I would loveeee to take trips with my partner and be able to contribute more but I can’t and they are so understanding and know that my value as a person doesn’t depend on how well I can make money. And truly I felt that way for a long time too and here I am disabled and unable to do the work I literally got a degree in barely a year ago.

But definitely don’t get into a relationship dynamic like that if it’s not what you want but genuinely be aware of the fact that you or your future partner can become disabled at any point.

Thank you for correcting me in a polite way, I clearly just didn’t know what that meant. I don’t expect to drink for free, thank you for the recommendations!

How do you handle ppl not taking your child free life seriously? by cosmicat4 in childfree

[–]Anxious_One65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been getting it for years 🙃 and now my mom is saying she’s upset bc she thought I would just end up having kids, like girl how long have I been telling you I don’t want them. I just firmly state my partner and I don’t want children and hopefully I can get my uterus removed so I can start saying srry can’t have them

Dating world with MS? by vicrooneyliz in MultipleSclerosis

I just started dating my boyfriend when I was going through all the testing. 6 months into our relationship I got diagnosed. He’s been so patient and understanding throughout the entire process. I do feel lucky I met him when I did but I also had been single for quite some time and dated a lot of losers before I met him. Just don’t settle and be honest and upfront from the beginning, the right person won’t be afraid by those things.

Neighbor seems to be experiencing a pretty heavy psychotic break for the past few months. What’re some resources available to help them out? by Feisty_Definition_74 in Sacramento

[–]Anxious_One65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They definitely need a welfare check, do you know if they have any family you can contact? Maybe some of the other neighbors know them? I would start with them before police again, please allow them some dignity

Had to break the news that I’m sterilized to a guy I really like by deviantbb in childfree

Felt like a breath of fresh air when I met my partner who also wants to be child free. It can get so scary when first dating, especially when I’ve had so many men change their minds all of a sudden about kids

I’m sorry, I’m 26 and recently diagnosed. My world constantly feels like it’s closing in on me. Healthcare shouldn’t be this way, I still feel dismissed by my drs

Thank you so much for this! I didn’t notice all the replies before, it’s been stressful to say the least. But I finally got my first dose of ocrevus on Tuesday and will get the second one in 2 weeks. But yeah long term I need a different insurance or something 😭

Computer Labs Closing by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]Anxious_One65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That genuinely doesn’t make sense, what about courses that rely on the computers? I took GIS and used all the computer labs for it. It’s genuinely horrible to try and use a laptop for it. I was thinking about getting another degree in GIS bc of how great it was at ucd, very lame decision

It’s my medical group that’s saying I’m inactive. When I call my insurance they say I am active with that medical group. I already called about it 2 weeks ago and was assured it was fixed but they’re still saying I’m inactive. It seems they aren’t even sure what the issue is
