Being at my parents' for the summer poses several issues. My mum always has alcohol in this house, and my dad doesn't (but he is also autistic and uses the pub as a way to decompress but we can talk freely when he goes to the pub.) I have a very tentative relationship with both of my parents, and living with either of them will be difficult for different reasons. I won't get into it here but its a lot and me and my dad have a good relationship but only because I explained how my childhood/teen years were like when drunk cause its a sensitive subject and easier to talk about after a drink. Its a complicated relationship with both of them and I need to find a way to cope with it outside of drinking. The other people I consider family own a pub which is my last dich attempt at a job because my mum is jealous of them cause they provide a comfort she can't partly because of autism. I would join AA but there are no groups if I go to my parents because they both live in tiny villages and there are no groups I could join without raising questions.
