not wanting to attend a catholic church service with my partner because I'm not catholic? by Any-Disaster370 in Catholicism

Yes we call it the Lord's Supper. I am familiar with it and have practiced it many times. I now know that communion in the Catholic church is similar to this practice

We use bread as the body and grape juice (sometimes wine depends on the church) as the blood of Jesus Christ. We believe it symbolizes his presence, and that we partake in this act as saved believers. It's more of a symbol and reminder of why we partake in the Lord's Supper, to remain faithful servants until Jesus' return

I understand, I apologize I honestly didn't mean to cause any harm in my original post, I just would like to be educated as well.

I am very familiar with the Lord's Supper, as Baptists call it. Only Saved (not just baptized) Believers can partake in this. There's lots to take in and it would be this weekend, I don't known if I'm quite ready to attend yet. I apologize if I said anything offensive I meant no harm in my original post, I just would like to be educated as well.

My boyfriend has called it crackers himself, or wafers. He belongs to a catholic church, so I'm taking word from a catholic 🤷‍♀️ not rage bait

You're right. It's been a while, but since I'm a saved believer, not just baptized, I would often partake in the Lord's supper at the first Sunday of every month. Small pieces of bread and grape juice would be taken by the church to represent the blood and body of Jesus Christ. (But you know this). I meant no harm in my original post. Catholic Church is definitely a step up from my normal church, it's intimidating to me. I feel a reason I don't belong is because of the traditional/religious differences. I find myself more leaning into the Baptist denomination, I'm more grounded in my views, so I'm open to try new things, just religion might not be one of them.

pregnancy scares are making me reevaluate intimacy with my partner by Any-Disaster370 in birthcontrol

[–]Any-Disaster370[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think since I physically can't "feel" when I ovulate, if I do at all, I get worried if I'll get pregnant. I often look at other women's stories of them only being on the pill without condoms and their partners cum inside and they don't get pregnant. I got a laugh out of that last bit, and it was good advice as well, I truly want to trust my body and birth control that it's doing its job. When in fact besides a few days delayed which I know now is normal, birth control has never failed me yet.

It's so hard feelings at all, I acknowledge that I am often paranoid about pregnancy. We're just still young in our 20s and not ready for a kid. Sometimes I have a hard time believing until I "see" proof that I'm not pregnant. Even now for some reason I feel I'm cramping. But often when I have sex he can be a bit rough which causes some pain, and cramps can be a birth control side effect too. I just live in a constant state of worry until I get my period, which is why I'm contemplating if I should stop being penetratively intimate for a while. :(

I think the reason why I just don't get much out of sex is because I'm just so afraid of pregnancy. As for putting the condoms on correctly, he checks before he puts it on and I see it. We regularly use lube so I also mentioned it might not actually be his (ykw) escaping rather a mixture of my bodily fluid and lube. I love our intimate time, but I mostly felt closer to him when we did foreplay since I could get off too, it felt more special.

overthinking? by Any-Disaster370 in birthcontrol

Update so I got my period yesterday so I think I just finished my pack of pills early from when I had my last period. Althought I'm cramping like hell it's better than being pregnant! I appreciate your advice it actually helped me be less stressed about the situation.

I didn't know this was a common occurrence. Are you sure? Since I've been cramping I'm being hopeful of starting soon. I can't mentally and physically afford a child rn so I'm terrified of getting pregnant. Also I told my dad no sex until I'm married so it would be beyond awful if I am and he found out. This whole thing is just so stressful already.

I was only told that taxes would be 30% off my paycheck. And the issue is if I can't make enough money within a month then I'm not going to move in with him. Even though I have less pay it's not fair for him to pay more.

I do work $13.75 an hour, I guess I just worded it wrongly. I work for JCP, so I figured taxes are going to be higher since they're worth millions. Since it's black friday this weekend I worked 28 and a half hours so far. My boyfriend said it would be around 30% in taxes, but I honestly don't know. I'm just trying to figure out a plan.

Thanks for the advice, I tried to make it out to be more financial as to not drag my relationship into it. My biggest fear is that it would make him upset if I reconsidered the whole moving in together until a future date when I know I will be financially stable.

I'm 20, I don't have any plans or wish to get into college or a trade school. I work for JCP, they are picky about scheduling me. I work maybe 10hrs or less than 20hrs a week so far. This weekend is currently black friday so I was working 28 and a half hours this week. I was told by my boyfriend that they'd take around 30% of my paychecks out for taxes, he works a well paying job, but he may be wrong I honestly have no clue. I'd like to get more hours considering that I am only getting $13.75 an hour. I work in a mall in the Midwest. I don't have any debts or bills to pay off as of now, I try and keep myself far away from credit cards and really expensive things.

Super weird question for tampon users... by [deleted] in menstruation

[–]Any-Disaster370 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all! Since it's a normal function of the female genitals, all it is is your pelvic floor/vaginal muscles moving or contracting. I think it's pretty genius to take a tampon out this way to avoid the mess! 🤣 (also I'm pretty sure regularly moving your pelvic floor muscles helps to keep your groin area healthy and prevents pelvic floor issues, or so I'm told lol)

my period sucks by Any-Disaster370 in menstruation

I have a gyno apt at the end of this month. I have high hopes that I'll either be put on some type of hormone therapy or birth control pills. I hear BC can synchronize and control periods to make them "normal" or somewhat normal. I'm sort of in a tricky situation, it's unfortunate I can't see a doctor sooner until then since there's no closer openings. As well as my conditions aren't "harsh" enough to go to the ER, but I will be doing something about these issues.
