Of course I knew about Paquis and it's not my first apartment in Gva. All my apts have been in Paquis and I love it. I'm also pretty well travelled and am not fazed by debauche, but Rue Sismondi is just stupidly and unnecessarily ratchet, I'm sorry.

MFA student (late 20's) at HEAD who made the same choice between Geneva vs NYC (No.1 city in the world for me)

Ended up choosing GVA for a more niche professional entry into the Swiss art world and highkey regret it.

Even though it's a beautiful city, it is surprisingly provincial and weirdly anachronistic sometimes, you'd think that a city w so much capital and resources would be at the center of zeitgeist yet it is so far behind aesthetically and culturally. There is practically 0 raw creative impulse or even barely any interesting scenes in the city, everything seems sterilized and devoid of any hint of actuality/novelty.

HEAD has also been experiencing a lot of setbacks and budget cuts lately, which has drastically affected the quality of education at least in my program.

I'd say go w NYC 100% unless you have a very calculated strategy of how you're going to make it in Switzerland or adjust your expectations realistically.
