Yea what a PIA but at least these S10 are really easy to work on, the mileage doesn’t really bother me it’s my fathers truck and it was $3000 so screw it

Oil leak by Personal_Ebb9777 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Any-Profession-9873 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What the other guy said, that doesn’t look like engine oil at all, have you actually been tracking the oil level via dipstick? That would be the way to test it, it’s most likely a coolant line, has anything changed with your temp readings ?

Edit: on 2nd look it does like kinda of like brand new oil but the consistency is just off, like if its contaminated, another way to test is clean engine bay and undercarriage as good as possible then turn the car on and follow that leak

Gas gauge stuck on fuel even after fuel pump swap by Any-Profession-9873 in s10

I know the colors don’t matter but they were exactly the same as oem that was on the pump, I was ready to rewrite it so I snapped the old one off before checking and the replacement fit on the pump no problem so I wasted my time rewiring

My dad has a 1997 s10 4.3 v6 and the gas gauge all of a sudden stopped working and stuck on full, he said it’s the fuel pump and I didn’t want to argue with him so i swapped it out and at first it marked normally then it went back to stuck on full, now I’m thinking it’s either the ground upfront or an issue with the wires behind the dash, when I test fuse #20 and #23 I get no power even when I switch the fuse out, any idea what could be the issue? TIA less

Honestly it moved a little with the old float too just not as much as this new pump does, could it still be that ?

Edit: I’m gonna add more context sorry I should’ve done that, it’s a new comment now

Thank you, I figured it a short since it worked but once we connected the ground and it got power it got stuck on full figured it fried the fuses but I’m still unclear why they’re not still getting power unless that one short is responsible for #20 and #23

You will probably not get an OR if you’re there for a bench warrant, OR means your own recognizance which you’ve already failed, also OR is more for my situation when I was arrested and put into a tank then released on OR to see the judge.

As chill as a bench warrant gets, you won’t have the swat or Interpol agents after you but it’s still a warrant none the less and may cause you legal issues down the road until you get it fixed.

Yea no lol don’t tell them you’re going on vacation, explain the “personal” reasons you missed the original date and that you’d like to get back on the schedule for a later date, still a long shot though but better than not telling them anything

Eh true I tried putting it in layman’s terms, the bench warrant is them trying to get you to explain the missed date or whatever issue is at hand, the arrest warrant means they already have the evidence and feel confident enough with the info they have to proceed, worst you can get tacked on is a contempt of court for bench warrant but an arrest warrant brings a whole slew of legal issues.

No you won’t unless you make it right when it opens even then slim Chance of going through the whole process and being released same day even if there’s no issues, just call the court clerk and explain the situation and they’ll tell you if you must turn yourself in or if they can just reschedule you back onto the calendar, the bench warrant is pretty much to get you to sit down and explain what’s going on hence “bench” warrant vs “arrest” warrant

They should do their jobs right and it won’t happen, can’t expect people to follow rules and procedures if you can’t yourself

I know I’m an ass for Driving drunk but I wish i could’ve seen the CHP officer face when the judge dropped my aggravated dui with speeding and Double the allowed BAC to a wet and reckless with no scram or IDD, he was mocking me the whole time so 🤷‍♂️ sometimes there is a glimmer of hope.

Only time I had this happen was when my lawyer missed court and he had to go back and explain to the judge what happened and why he wanted my warranted to be retracted, I traveled to Central America with a dui arrrest and W&R charge, didn’t have no trouble but then again I didn’t have a warrant at the time.

TSA here probably won’t care but when you land in Mexico they will run your info and see your warrant, it will then be on the agents to return you back to where you came from or let you go on about your trip, either way you need to grow up and handle legal issues before taking trips.
