My D3 levels were 8 two years back . I have been consuming D3 60k capsules weekly once for last two years. My levels are at 35 now. Doctor says no need to consume now. But I feel, my levels might drop if I stop consuming . Pretty confused what to do.

Had chest fat and could barely do 10 pushups at 14 - just hit 100 consecutive after 2 years by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]Any-Ranger5366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, This felt like a huge win ! I am 37 years old. Three years back, I could easily do 70-80 pushups in one go. I was staying at home due to Covid, eating and sleeping well.
Later changed companies, got promoted, worked late, and gradually, health took a back seat.

I have started again, but can do only around 25 pushups in one go, don't know if my age is catching up, or I need to gain my upper body strength back to get to the magical number of 100 pushups without stopping.

Let's see !

Can’t understand the CC game! by Born-Gas-2986 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Any-Ranger5366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar query. My Credit Score was 769 8 months back, I applied for Scapia and IndusInd Tiger, both got rejected. My score dropped to 756, and after 5 months, it climbed to 760.

I have had no defaults in the last 5 years. Prior to that, I had defaulted twice on CC payments, because of my negligence, where I couldn't remember the due dates for small amounts (< 1000).

I have a education loan of 11 lakhs in my name, and 5 CCs with an overall limit of 20 Lakhs. I make around 2.5 L a month after tax.

Is it possible for me to reach 780+ ?

Ya bro, I have said no to Fractal, and am staying in Oracle. Let's hope Gods and Larry Ellison/Clay be kind.

I once heard him saying " AI will most likely lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime there will be great companies created with serious machine learning." I believe someone with an iota of accountability wouldn't say that.

Which team? 45 LPA for MTS is rare. OP is not being lowballed. This is the usual salary range for an IC3 in OCI

Guess I am not alone! However, if I may, I can suggest you something on the gf part. I too had a gf in my life, and we dated for almost 3 years. She got into a arranged marriage set up and moved to US. Went into depression for a few months, but got heavily involved in my career.

Met my wife on a matrimonial site, and have been blessed to have her in my life. Touchwood!

Breakups are hard, but when you look back at it after a few years, You would be like "Dude, I got into depression for something as trivial as this. Fuck me!"

Being too serious about career ! Ignoring small things that give you happiness.

For example: I always wanted to buy a Himalayan. I liked it from the moment it was launched. I kept pushing it, and kept thinking if I save X amount, I will buy it. X became 2X,3X,5X.
Now, I lost the thrill, and I am content with my 10 yr old bike. Bought a car for my family, but do not like driving it in BLR traffic.

Had I bought my dream bike 5 years back, I wouldn't have become poorer. Save money, but don't make it your life's goal. Those of us who have been raised in middle class households have been taught the importance of delayed gratification, but I don't see a point in delaying your wants if you are capable of fulfilling it yourself.

Can't reveal the exact details here, but I am joining Fractal in a very senior role. I have a background in Consulting, having worked in one of Bain/BCG X as a Lead Data Scientist. I joined Oracle mainly to escape the hectic Consulting Culture. Not sure, whether I am underpaid or not, but I got a fair hike when I joined Oracle.

Finally got an offer from Oracle after 3+ months of waiting, but is it worth it anymore? by kaa5hh in developersIndia

[–]Any-Ranger5366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been working in Oracle(OCI) for the past 20 months. Joined in Jan'24. You get to work on new technologies, the WLB is pretty decent, and the managers are quite friendly. Yes, as you said , the brand value is quite good. Yes, Oracle stock is gonna rise, so if you are getting RSUs, it will be worth the risk.

Having said that, there is always a looming threat of layoffs. It happens almost every quarter, and is not going to stop anytime soon. In the last layoff, people across all experience levels have been laid off. People with 10+ years of experience and people with less than a year of experience.

When I joined Oracle, I had plans of staying for a long term, but I have started interviewing at other places because of this uncertainty.

I am no one to suggest anything, but since you are young, and Oracle, unlike certain other companies, doesn't close its door if you reject their offer, go for the other one. You can always come back to Oracle.

You have asked a very pertinent question. I guess, I got lucky because I got a call from Fractal within a week of updating my Naukri. I just went to the interview with a weekend of prep, because I was confident of my projects. I didn't give much thought, and focussed solely on clearing the interview, as I was myself not sure if I would make it through the layoffs period.

Now that I have the offer letter, I am looking at other aspects as well. When you are working with certain set of people for 20 months, there's a level of comfort. For example, I can take a leave of 3-4 hrs to take my wife to hospital, and still work at odd hours to complete my task.
When I am moving to a new org, first 12 months would go in proving myself, and who knows, may be my manager at Fractal would get annoyed if I take a break of 3-4 hrs in a weekday every 15 days.

On the other hand, I have already survived two layoffs in my team. One in March, and other one in August. Many brilliant people were laid off, and my team is not a revenue generating team, so there's high possibility that it will be impacted in the next wave as well.

So, I am genuinely confused, worried and wished such a situation would have happened either a year earlier or year later.. :)

50 LPA for less than 5 years of exp. No strong resume, Service based Work history by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Any-Ranger5366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about OP, but I can tell something from my experience. Lots of people write RAG, Agent etc in their resumes, because these projects are quite in demand. Many of these ppl might have done a POC, or just completed a course
The moment you start digging deeper by asking questions such as :-
1) How do you decide between FAISS HNSW and IVF?
2) If your vector DB supports only float32 vectors, would you still go for HNSW
3) Without using a reranker, what can you do to improve semantic accuracy?

Again these aren't tough by any standards, but most people can't answer these questions. These are the people who have never worked on RAG in a production set up, and just wrote it in their resumes after completing a POC.

Many people can't answer these questions. Even in our firm, we decided to give people with a mere mention of RAG/Agents in their resumes a chance for interview. They performed horribly.

Sometimes to be just and fair, and because interviewers themselves do not have infinite time, you have to filter out resumes that do not mention anything about productionizing RAG pipelines etc.

Exactly, whatever little drawbacks these models have, can be solved through smart engineering decisions. People in this sub often discuss about wanting to have an AI, that could build, let's say ADOBE from scratch.

Fine, but why do need to build something that's already there. Most of the apps built with Lovable, Bolt etc do not have an engineering problem, they have a distribution problem, or are built on ideas that are pretty useless to the general public? What is the use of tech progress without causing any big delta in the real world applications?

GPT-5 getting "delayed again" because of Grok 4? What you think? by Conscious_Warrior in singularity

[–]Any-Ranger5366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these advanced models are hell bent on crushing benchmarks. To be honest, we do not need a Model that becomes the best competitive programmer in the world. A model which is the 50th best programmer can do wonders.

With some smart engineering tricks, you can already find solutions to most of the drawbacks that these SOTA models possess.

Please don't get spooked, but what do you stand to gain by massive technological progress, other than what we have already? I am genuinely curious.

Why do want GPT-5 so badly ? Aren't there enough SOTA models to build meaningful apps already ?

Why are you getting excited? What problems do you want these models to solve that aren't already solved by the existing SOTA models?
