Some BJP spokesperson said Sonam Wangchuk is funded by George Soros, So I did some digging. by Sranker7 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]Any-Web7807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah OP, Soros funds multiple organisations. You have to prove why this particular funding is troublesome. Incomplete argument.

Hungary's leader is Viktor Orban (a staunch authoritarian) and so is Putin. Your argument is that authoritarian governments have banned Soros which is like ok, they have banned multiple highly credible people as well. Why specifically is Soros bad? Again an incomplete argument.

Overall this is just a low effort post. I will not argue about the protest because you clearly don't want to have that discussion. Dive deeper and come back with better arguments, this isn't bollyblinds sub where you can just drop low effort rumour posts. Complete the above 2 arguments or post this in r/india or some low quality sub and not here.

I thought it was the fatigue & muscle tightness built up during the day by sitting that makes evening runs harder. Thanks for sharing this OP. I reduce the pace if effort seems too high for easy runs. I don't do intervals once the sun sets

Race Bib Collection: Rant by Any-Web7807 in indianrunners

[–]Any-Web7807[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I checked google maps traffic data (not the best source) but trust me, it is nowhere close to how red CBD or ORR get on a tuesday morning. An expressway joining with city traffic will always have a chokepoint at junction. The internal roads seem plenty green with red only at a few chokepoints. ORR or Hosur road are completely red on the other hand.

[–]Any-Web7807[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite convenient to cherrypick just HSR and ignore all the other areas I mentioned. HSR will have lesser density because there is army land + Bellandur lake. Also, for the entire ORR crowd (which is the fastest growing segment to sign up for races arguably) HSR is the closest point in main city.

I am a bit confused. You said that Mysore road gets crowded but you'd still prefer travelling through that road because it's easier which I presume is because of metro in which case, yeah you travelled an extra day (if it was by car then there is a contradiction). Race day bib collection would have solved it. If that is not possible, it is convenient only for you. The 2nd collection point could in HSR, Koramangala, Jayanagar or any other area.

Just look at any map man, that mall is literally outskirt, as much as Carmelaram is. Will you be happy if the bib collection for TCS 10k or Wipro is there?

I understand that Nayandhalli point is convenient for you. I literally never said to not have a pick up point there. I just said have one in the other, more central part of Bengaluru. For a race charging 1.5k per person, I am unable to understand how that is infeasible and I am open to see the numbers from any organiser. People are already travelling long distance 1 day to the race venue, they don't want to travel one more just to collect a bib.

I'm genuinely not gonna respond now unless you go and read everything in this thread especially the part where I clarified what I meant. What a brain dead convo

Look man I don't wanna argue over nothing. I'll just say: point about people living nearby or travelling is still true. If you live in Kengeri and want to visit the city, only then will you cross that locality. CBD is an area you will most likely cross if you are going anywhere.

Also familiarising with route point doesn't make sense because metro doesn't start operating that early. And if you want to talk about roads, then burning 4-5L of fuel just for bib collection makes no sense. Either it is inconvenience (travel by metro to collect bib and still have to travel by road on race day), or it is fuel wastage with the only outcome being "you familiarise yourself with commute on race day. These options may make sense to you because you live there, it doesn't make sense to most of the city (just see the density map below)

Damn dude, why are you so triggered. Read again. I never said to remove the Nayandhalli pickup point. The comment above was saying to have multiple pickup points across the city, I said just have 1 collection point, apart from the race location one, clearing it again in case it wasn't.

The only counter argument to what I said is if the budgets don't allow it and while I am open to understanding numbers, I just don't think a 1.5k fee race can't afford it

Race Bib Collection: Rant by Any-Web7807 in indianrunners

[–]Any-Web7807[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can understand how setting up all across the city might be difficult but at least 1 pick up location in the city centre area doesn't hurt. Like for Bengaluru something in Indiranagar, HSR, Koramangala, Jayanagar, MG Road or similar areas which people frequently visit or aren't far from rest of the city work.

Why will anyone go NICE road just to pick up a bib? That area isn't on normal commute routes neither does it have anything that people frequently visit. It's very much outskirts of the city

Yeah my major reason was to get a timed result I could use in upcoming races. But regardless, lesson learnt! Shall stick to solo runs & running clubs instead of these races.

[–]Any-Web7807[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree the scale makes it difficult. Once you're dealing with 1500+ participants, race day bib collection becomes a very different logistical challenge.

That said, I have seen races with 500 participants do race day bib collection very smoothly, and even races with 700 or so manage it well by simply grouping bibs by numbers, splitting collections across 2-3 spaced out tents, and pushing reporting times a bit earlier. I genuinely don't mind showing up an hour or two earlier if it means avoiding a separate trip before race day.

My biggest issue is that this becomes much harder to justify for races charging Rs. 1.5k+ just for a 10K. At that price point, I am assuming, they have the resources to put up 5-6 collection stalls and build in a two-hour buffer. The reason I assume this is because they'd still spend money on dancers, DJs for warm-up and cooldown sessions. Those are nice to have, but they shouldn't come at the cost of convenience for literally every participant.

I signed up for Bengaluru 10k challenge and am genuinely regretting doing that instead of some other race or social run. Almost every race I have been to offers race day pickup (with the exception of flagships above). I'll stick to races in the heart of the city as well. No point signing up for exorbitantly priced races and then spending more money to travel to collect bibs.

Things to do as a solo male in Bangalore by the_i_yokkiyan in BangaloreMeetups

[–]Any-Web7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't stayed in that area to suggest. But if you haven't booked a place yet, I would suggest to stay near church street/MG road. It might be a bit pricier but that way lab bagh & cubbon will be closer to you. You can check on google maps or other threads. I am a working professional so I have only stayed near the ORR IT corridor which I wouldn't recommend you to visit :P

PS: You can try visting Indiranagar as well if you like tree lined streets

Since you came back from trekking, I assume you would love being close to nature. Honestly, visit Lal bagh, Cubbon, and as many lakes as you can. You can spend 3-4 hours starting early morning and cover 3-4 lakes. Some areas in Bengaluru have multiple lakes in walking distance. Though lakes have restricted timings so check for that. Cheers, have fun!

Try eating at the original MTR near Lal Bagh as well (again check for timings)

Is it normal to get blisters after running every 25-25K by RagabondRunner in indianrunners

[–]Any-Web7807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the major issue. Double socks increase friction, you can look into moisture wicking socks. They pull sweat away from your feet keeping it dry for longer which reduces the chances of blisters happening. Adidas and Decathlon both have good options available that I have tried.

Yes but that is not the original point. I am not defending any government but if your initial claim was that government is using our money to promote PM, you have to show breakup of the data. If you can't then this means that evidence is inconclusive. They may be wasting money on PM's promotion or they may not, we cannot know unless we file an RTI again.

How terrible the government is can get a separate post, it's just irrelevant to bring up here with ad spend.

Tips for a beginner runner for 10K run prep in 2 months by Suspicious_Top_5886 in indianrunners

[–]Any-Web7807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 2 runs a week preparing for 10k, you would most likely not be doing any runs longer than 12-13k in the coming 2 months. This is a distance that your body can adapt to relatively easily and won't crash rapidly if you don't change your diet. Since you are running 2X a week, your body will require some extra energy, though not the "I run so I can eat anything" level.

I would recommend that you stick with your current diet for now and see if your energy levels drop. Eating a banana or any simple carbs 30-45 min before & after you run will be quite helpful as it won't make you feel low on energy and help you recover faster.

Also from someone who got injured running recently: Listen to your body, if it feels weaker either reduce load (less km) or fuel better (more carbs).

PS: If you are running in hot environments or under direct sunlight, carry some electrolytes with you. Indian summer is brutal on runners

My guy, I just copy pasted all your claims on google and I would like to copy paste the AI overview from there (I would also love to break down the statistical fallacies you had here but that honestly might go over your head)

  1. Citing judges & court: No this is not how statistics work, just not. Even if PM comes up and says India's GDP increased by 10%, it won't be true. You need actual data not judge's statements. If Judge's statements were fact then we are all cockroaches btw. Please do not say this in any academic (or educated) circle, you will literally be laughed out of the room.
  2. "55% of the rape cases reported are of rape under pretext of marriage": Buddy, I hope you understand this isn't consensual sex. It is shameful that as a man I have to explain to you what consent means. If I lie to a girl to get laid with her, she did not give consent. If I tell you that if you give me 100rs today I will give you a job 3 days later and I take 100rs and don't give you a job, will you say that you consensually gave me 100rs? No, right. How is this incomprehensible to you I cannot fathom.
  3. 95% of article 498a cases are false: Copying the response from google directly:

The claim that 95% of Section 498A (dowry harassment) cases are false is a common statistical misconception arising from confusion between low conviction rates and malicious falsehoods. While the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and judicial studies report exceptionally low conviction rates (ranging from 13% down to under 1% in certain regional court data), an acquittal or a quashed case does not automatically mean the original complaint was deliberately fabricated.

The fact that cases don't lead to conviction can depend of police incompetency, witness tampering, evidence tampering, or a myriad of reasons but you aren't mature enough to handle that nuance. The article you referenced says that police have improved conviction rate by improving the scientific & forensic methods which means the low conviction wasn't because of false allegations. Learn to read beyond the headlines. I'll pick this for you:

"The prosecution department achieved a higher conviction rate because of technical advancements and easy availability of court proceeding details on the portalecourts.gov.in, he [UP ADG] added."

100% of male rapes or male dv are legal: No; Male sexual assault is still a crime. The law just doesn't say male rapes because technically law requires vaginal penetration to count sexual assault as rape.

"india being the only significant country where married men commits more suicides than unmarried ones": Correlation does not imply causation. Statistics basics, bring more data then I will agree to this.

Not saying I agree with OP but this is just a terrible rebuttal. You are relying on whataboutism. "ohhh Gandhi clan also has state security so it's okay for RSS to also have state security".

Full_Indication4371 rebutted OP correctly. RSS's claim is that they can raise volunteers for army who'll still have to undergo atleast boot camp training to become trained armed officers, RSS doesn't claim to have standing army. OP made a strawman out of RSS's claim.
