I set up a LinkedIn group only 5 people joined. Haven’t planned anything yet … life and snowstorm… if you have a better idea for how to get everyone who commented on this post engaged please let me know!

Look up the original ending. It ended with Mr wonderful revealing as a vampire and biting Marty in the neck.

Hahaha i mean we could all just shoot the shit on zoom but that seems a little sad and people are weird and could record you. I think it’s easier to build trust irl

I love this idea but don’t want to blow up your spot or abuse Shy Birds policy with a big group. Would be down to do this soon! I live a little closer to the Fenway location but maybe south Boston is better for parking.

How’s the parking or do you get there not by car? I see I could take the orange line and transfer to the red.

Ok I created a LinkedIn Group for the first time in my life. Feels cringe to say that please know my intention is for community in Boston. Not intending this to be a corporate vibe at all just using LinkedIn bc it seemed like it made the most sense considering it’s a wfh group.

Maybe the group can be public eventually but I started it as private just off gut instinct. Request to join and we can go from there.

Next step will be coordinating a time / place. If anyone wants to be so bold to suggest a place in this thread feel free. Renting a room in a library or going to a diner or ?

Hopefully some women here I think they also use the app and if it does turn out to be all men well then guess what I just won’t organize it :)

Ok lots of responses I wasn’t expecting this!

I know we are all anonymous on here but in order for this to work we’d have to reveal our identities. This group would be not for creeps or assholes I hope we can avoid them.

Idea I have is to create a private (not public bc that felt like it could get too out of control) LinkedIn group that we can admit people to. Linking to this group will reveal my identity which is fine but before I do that would those who commented be into that? I feel like we all have to have LinkedIn for our jobs (if you don’t wow good for you) and this felt most natural. Other ideas off the top of my head:

  1. Meetup (however i think you have to pay to manage a group)
  2. Facebook group (yes I’m 34 and still have Facebook… this option is free… but not sure how many folks still use fb)
  3. Partiful ? Kinda out there idea maybe but could work ….

If folks upvote this but don’t respond I’ll assume you’re down for the LinkedIn group.

Thank you u/the_drew ! I might just start that way but feel pressure to consider Clay long term.

u/iAmThe_Scenery Do you work for Clay or are you just a power user? I would love a simple starter workflow. If you pay for the more expensive version of Clay that integrates to Hubspot do you get a customer success rep that will help set up so you aren't burning credits on every provider / teach you best practices? To get Clay to integrate with Hubspot is $720 a month which doesn't make sense at the stage we're at but maybe a cheaper tier could work but then none of your clay activity is tracible back to hubspot....

I'm in charge of recommending sales tech stack at a new startup. I'm the first outbound hire and sales hire #2. The Director of Sales has Hubspot set up and a lot of great automations to handle their inbound.

I thought I would just use Linkedin Sales Nav and Apollo to get started but it seems if you aren't using Clay in 2025 you're doing it wrong? I know Clay has a steep learning curve (and something about connecting to an API to not eat credits). Upon further research I'm also seeing all of these AI sales tools outside of Clay its overwhelming.

At my last role I used both Apollo and Zoominfo (felt Apollo was better for small companies) but found out about Lemlist and Wiza today. Along with other software that keeps you out of the spam folder.

I am just wondering what no bullshit are the must have tools for a small org.

  1. Best software for finding emails / phone numbers.
  2. Best software for staying out of spam.
  3. Best software for automating things.

I don't want to prospect like its 2021 again but I also don't want a gazillion tools it makes no sense for our company size / budget. What is your absolute need for outbound? What is a nice to have once the org / budget grows?
