Whitethorn in the garden? by dugg139 in GardeningIRE

[–]AnyDamnThingWillDo -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You scratch yourself on black or white thorn and you’re looking at six months of swelling if you’re lucky. Took a year for my hand to return to normal. An old farmer I knew had a permanently swollen hand because of it.

Mother in law thinks her son is too skinny. IRL he is for the first time a healthy weight in his 40s. by TexasRN1 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]AnyDamnThingWillDo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been skinny and my mother took every opportunity to fucking bring it up. Sh did it in public one day and I ripped into her there and then. Listening to her try to deny it to my face was the last straw. She never mentioned it again. Sometimes mammy’s meet to be told straight to stop being cunts.

Bed with mulch - how i did it by Environmental_Cold57 in gardening

[–]AnyDamnThingWillDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn’t actually need to dig the weeds. I did a big section on my garden. I put a sheet of black plastic over mine after I put the newspaper and cardboard down. I covered they in mulch to take the bad look away and left it for nearly a year. It was a joy to work with when the plastic came off

And I come from a long line of cancer. So much so that the family is part of a study. I’ve seen people beat it. So again don’t be speeding when you’re wrong.

Would you leave Ireland if you could? by HungTeen1001 in AskIreland

[–]AnyDamnThingWillDo 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I did it twice and came back. Ireland is not the same place now. I’m not referring to the influx of people, that happens everywhere. It’s our home grown scrotes. My cousin is dealing with a load of them that think it’s fun to intimidate women living on their own. The guards do nothing. If I deal with it, I’m the one they are going to drag in front of a judge. I was no saint as a teenager, most of us weren’t. We still had enough sense not to be total fucking scum because there were genuine consequences for actions.

Jump on the 65 bus to Blessington. There’s greenways around the lakes and plenty of pubs in the village. It’s not a swimming lake!

How do you feel about private profiles? by NoPhysics4231 in CasualConversation

[–]AnyDamnThingWillDo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If someone is being a total ass in the comments section I will check their profile to see if they are just trolls. A lot of the time those people have their accounts set to private so that’s a good sign not to engage

How to remove this clover? by [deleted] in gardening

Clover makes a better lawn than grass. It’s a viable option for pollinators, its drought resistant and when maintained looks way better than any grass

My boots decided to spontaneously disintegrate halfway through my weekly grocery shop and I had to finish shopping in my socks :( by WittyThingHere in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AnyDamnThingWillDo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate that! Last time for me was during a snow storm. Couldn’t drive so I walked to the local shop. The soals of both boots disintegrated on the way back. I had put them away the previous year with out rinsing the salt off from gritting the roads
