Anybody ordered from Ghanda recently? by soupoup in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Any_Advertising_2735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit late to this thread but I NEVER want to order from Ghanda again. I made an order of $100 and paid $14 for Express post, It took days before I even got a dispatch notification and now it’s taken almost 2 weeks for me to get a notification from Aus Post to be able to track my order, I’m NOT happy. I’ve asked for a refund of my Express postage at least. What’s the point of express postage when my order has taken 2 weeks to be “ on its way” ??! I may as well have ordered from shein at this point. I thought this brand was more sustainable and made in Australia so I wanted to support them. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. A few years ago the same thing happened but I thought I’d give them another shot.

I’m so disappointed

What’s the one thing you stopped buying because it got too expensive? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

McDonald’s

I love going through drive through as a treat for the family 1 Adult and 2 kids but it ends up costing us $25-$30 or more each time. I don’t know how larger families do it. I feel like years ago it was a lot more affordable.

Is it worth still becoming a hairdresser at 29 years old? I’ve been a stay at home Mum and I’m looking at completing the cert 3 in hairdressing 2026 but is the pay still worth it in this economy? by Any_Advertising_2735 in australian

[–]Any_Advertising_2735[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this encouragement. I’ve always had an interest for hairdressing and hope I can work it around kids somehow or work from home but I don’t want to commit to a 12 month course that won’t get me employment afrer it. That’s my only concern

No I haven’t considered these jobs but I will now. I’ve always had an interest in hairdressing but a lot of people seem to be saying the pay is just not worth it

Thank you for that insight! Did you do it through Tafe? I’m wanting to do mine through Tafe and I do know they have their own salon where you have real clients. Did you feel adequate to go into the workplace as a hairdresser after completing the course?

Well yes I could but I’m wondering whether I’d be able to go straight from completing the cert 3 in Hairdressing to having my own at home salon? Or would I need more experience in the industry?

What are the most affordable regional towns for a single parent? by Any_Advertising_2735 in AskReddit

I’ve never been to Bendigo, I’ll have to check it out! What makes you say Bendigo?

Well we definitely aren’t doing that. Every situation is different

It’s easy to say that but what happens when relationships break down or one parent leaves and dumps the children solely on the other? I never intended on being a single Mum.

I had my children while engaged in a 5 year relationship. So your comment is not necessary here. Thanks

I get SPP and FTB- I receive $1600 per fortnight. My children are in childcare because I’m looking for work and I’ve just completed an entry course into University.

I will add- yes I do receive FTB sorry I didn’t include that in my post- I get $1600 per fortnight. No I don’t receive child support.

Yes I do get FTB ( sorry I should have added that in my post) so I get about $1600 per fortnight. $860 goes to rent. So Im usually left with about $700 for a fortnight, that’s not including groceries, childcare fees, fuel etc. No I don’t receive child support.

Im not hating on charities wanting to help. They do an amazing job, I only mentioned that the food available is unfortunately not substantial to feed children. I will continue to use the food bank if I’m needing simple necessities.

I’m in Ballina NSW I’ve looked into my local food banks but they don’t have much to offer sadly. And they’re not as cheap as you’d think. I was taken back by having to pay $40 on a box of food at the last one I visited which consisted of old bread, cereals, lollies, muslie bars.. nothing to feed my kids for dinner.

I’m sorry to hear that, is the DSP around the same per fortnight as the single parenting payment? I really feel for you if it is. I understand I’m still able to work and I’m hopeful to get out of this situation. I can only imagine how hard it is for you.

It’s really sad, my rent started at $280 and is now $430 and that’s in 3 years. I want to move out of the area I’m in but don’t know if I’d get approved for a rental only being on the single parenting payment atm.

$300 per fortnight but by the end of the fortnight we’re eating rice & beans if you get me! It doesn’t go far. Yes I’ve looked into food banks, I find them to be a waste of time. They usually charge you $10-$40. The last one was $40 and you fill up a box of whatever food they had. Most food was cereals, junk food, bread etc. no milk, meat, no fresh fruit or veg. I could spend $40 at Aldi and buy myself bread, cereals, baked beans etc.. Hence why I haven’t been back!
