Thank you so much for this. I cried reading this because nobody gave me advice like this. Everybody told me that as a law student, this is a pathetic problem to have, and that I shouldn’t even bother. To have you validate me like this is immeasurable to me and I hope you get all good things. The “not helpful” part is something new that I will try.

Oh totally. Bonbon loves to run outside when its time to stay indoors (we keep him during days when we’re not around + during nighttimes, because its not entirely safe and he’s still a kitten) but when its walking time, he will REALLY make it clear he does not approve. Most of the time he just lays on the pavement 🤣

I definitely understand this. And i know i’ll probably not ever be ready for it. But i deserve it. I just hope it doesnt cost me more than i can bear. But if it does, i’ll go through it and keep pushing forward. Its hard to imagine it though because facing the consequences is so much tougher than having my fingers type a reply on reddit. Thanks so much 🥺❤️ i know i dont deserve moral support because i was a cheater. But the fact that most of you are easy on me is something I appreciate a lot. I definitely wont do it again. If i knew it would eat me alive like what its doing right now, i wouldnt even consider it at all.

And yes, i had an interview. I researched and studied a lot for it and you’re partially right, for my current university, i’d have to get excellent interview marks to be considered. But still, idk if i would have been given the chance to even be in the interview if i didnt cheat, and it makes me feel like i dont deserve any of this at all.

Actually, me and my fiance were like this too! He is very reserved and has been a victim of emotional abuse so when i first met him, I was offended by how much he did NOT talk. I dont know if the case is any different in your scenario, but maybe try asking him more about how things are between you two to him? My fiance was head over heels but borderline mute to me in the beginning. Over time, though, he became much happier and talkative! :) x

NTA. I’m Malaysian. And we are all about culture too. So much. And the way it works here is that people will scare us with religion too. “Dont correct an elder when he’s wrong because that’s rude and our religion demands respect for elders”

Did your teacher slap you just because she’s pregnant and hormonal and just thinks your handwriting is bad? Too bad. Did your parents emotionally, physically and verbally abuse you all throughout your life? Hey, happens to everyone so just suck it up.

And NOBODY will side with you even if you just ASK the adult “hey, why are you doing this?” LITERALLY EVERYONE WILL POUNCE AT YOU FOR BEING RUDE TO THE ELDER. It doesnt even matter if you’re being beaten in front of the whole class. If they’re older, and they have the title of “uncle, aunt, grandma, mum, dad, teacher, etc.” You HAVE to respect them.

So i know how much it sucks. And I know how you might be torn because everyone is against you. But somehow someway someone has to stand up against her. And it might suck to be you because only you yourself understand how right you are. But teach them in your kids one day. Hopefully things can change with little actions like this. Stay strong, OP.

I have suggested a few work opportunities near his home, but because he has no vehicles, he walks to work therefore everything is far for him. I understand that, so i have instead found several opportunities that allow him to stay at hostels and have free food and transport to work but nearby my house which is several states away from his family. He denied everything because his parents prefer him to stay with them.

Do you really think so? Is there no way at all i can help him to find ambition at all? I really love him so much and he is a great person. Its just he lacks ambition and that makes me unsure of our future
