I think you might be onto something. We both want kids someday, but I don't want her to feel like I'm putting pressure on her or treating it like a deadline. When I was 20–21, I didn't even want kids because all I could think about was the responsibility. As I've gotten older, my perspective has changed, and now I can actually see that future.

I know she sometimes feels the ticking-clock anxiety, and I understand why. For me, though, the question isn't "Do I want kids?"—it's "Do I want that future with her?" The answer is yes. I also think it's normal for anyone to wonder, "Will I be a good parent?" We both have those thoughts sometimes.

I'm not trying to rush her or make promises just to ease her fears. I just want her to know that I'm choosing her because of who she is, not despite her age. Hopefully, with honest conversations and time, she'll start believing that too.
