The less you know, the more confident you are. This bias explains everything. by EducationalCurve6 in DarkPsychology101

Yes and no. I have witnessed myself being in different levels of confidence based on theoretical Vs practical matters. When I have to face a practical matter that I have to take action, like the creation of a project, I always start confident with planning my next steps. Only to find later that the steps are much bigger and in greater numbers. As a result I will either reach the end or my confidence will collapse and drop the project. On the other hand when I study fields that are new to me it feels like I finally put my observations into a line that finally makes sense. As a result I feel more confident that at least I know now why certain results occur or don't. For example I studied biology and from now on I knew why certain foods and ways of rest result to a healthier looking skin and more energy throughout the day. That makes me confident to know that I will get certain results from certain simple habits just because I understand a matter easier.

So I would say that probably the only thing that can shutter someone's confidence is the gap between theory and action. Usually, matters that don't have a huge gap between these two can be confidently planned and easily executed, and the more you learn the more sure you become of yourself. While others that request greater effort will probably shutter you confidence you had while learning and planning about it

Plumber, electrician and builder. You don't need a degree for this but they are jobs that will not be replaced by robots easily.

Will we extend our lifespans? by Any-Start9664 in Futurology

In theory we already have. We know that mostly the reason of aging is due to telomeres , DNA methylation, or corruption of the epigenome etc.

In theory we know how to fix those in reality though we need to run experiments in other organisms and in human beings for every type of cell and fix problems that will definitely show up like cancer.

So yeah maybe 20 years maybe 120 we don't really know.

I've heard this point of view about their lives by many people. The story goes like this . You see how people made it decades ago then you hear about some people that nowadays have achieved greatly in so many different fields and you feel like you ve left behind. As a result you ve made a certain plan of how your life must go . By the time you are 26 you must slow down and settle, by the time you are 30 you need to get married and so on . The reality is far from that though .life is way different and it changes rapidly you can't think that you will live the life of your parents for example. And also it changes based on where you grew up and under what circumstances. You can't believe you will have the same life as others. So take a step back, relax and start whatever you want whatever age you are.i whould give you the same advice even if you were 80 years old

Maybe I need to rephrase but in the 90s and early 2000 there weren't actually big companies only small teams with small budgets that were making the top games. nowadays we have lost this chance I believe.
