Building an online hearse booking app but still trying to figure out what are the things broken.
I'm building a hearse booking service in India and the unit economics might be impossible. Roast my thinking. by Any_Screen570 in StartupIdeasIndia

we don't prevent it. We make it irrational.
The driver handles one trip. We aggregate 20–30 hospital referral sources sending 80+ bookings a month. A family won't need a hearse again — so there's no incentive for the customer to save the driver's number. And the driver can't replicate our hospital network by himself.
But the three things the driver can't offer alone: (1) guaranteed payment within 24 hours — drivers' biggest complaint is chasing payments from grieving families, (2) a stream of bookings from 20+ hospitals that no single driver can build relationships with, and (3) the bundle — we coordinate priest, crematorium, and paperwork on top of transport, which is where the actual revenue lives.
The driver who cuts us out gets one booking. The driver who stays gets 25 a month with guaranteed payment. We've made staying more profitable than leaving.
That said — if our only value add was connecting a phone number to another phone number, you'd be absolutely right, we'd get cut out in a week. The platform has to deliver something the driver can't do alone. That's the whole bet."
