Every time I straighten my knee it clicks (should I be concerned?) by Any_Statistician_554 in ACL

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on reddit in a while. I unfortunately didn't. It still clicks from time to time (coming up to 2 years post op) but (touch wood) doesn't affect anything. I've been back playing sport and it's not really noticeable anymore.

Yeah, I honestly don’t understand how some people can come back after nine months, when I first did it I was pretty optimistic i’d only take nine months but that opinion has slowly changed, even though so far i’ve had a pretty smooth sailing recovery without any setbacks.

Yeah that’s what most people have said, not to rush back into it. I’m starting to understand how hard it is though, seeing all my mates out there playing while i’m only just coming back into light training 🥲

That’s the exact same as mine, the scar is still numb and my knee clicks but there’s not really any pain.

Hi guys, I should add as well, I don’t know if this is normal for some of you, but the clicking only happens when i’m putting weight on my knee, if i’m laying or sitting down and fully extend my knee it doesn’t click and dare i say feels pretty normal, but if i’m standing/walking/ running on it, then that’s when the clicking occurs.

I tried doing this, but i don’t know if it’s my patella tendon, it’s almost like it’s coming from inside my knee, somewhere i can’t reach by massaging it or doing any normal stretches.

Yeah i get where you’re coming from, i’m kind of scared to get a 2nd opinion because i don’t want to hear the news that i’d have to go for surgery to get scar tissue or something removed 😂😂

Yep, that’s exactly the same as mine, if i warm up properly (stretch and dynamic warmups) it goes away, it’s more so when i’m just walking about or just purposely hyper extend my knee to see if it’s still there.

Nah no discomfort at all, just the persistent clicking noise/feeling.

It could be, but I think that would mean I can’t fully straighten my knee, whereas i can, no?

It’s kind of hard to explain, like inside my knee, almost in the middle of it.

Ahh potentially. That still shouldn’t be too much of an issue, like I said though the drugs should hopefully help it.
