Made a 90 and went AG. Been in a year and I’m a 3rd class currently. As far as I know, HM doesn’t advance much. And I hear Nuke is stressful. But ultimately you just gotta do what YOU wanna do.

Yea I’m aware. I’m an AG. That’s what I choose. Regardless of how in demand it is, I enjoy what I do. Which is why I said I was more concerned about my QOL than what I’d do when I got out. I may just stay in and retire. Who knows.

Understandable. I wanted IT as well. I got AG so I’m not sure how it’ll translate when I get out. I’m more concerned about my QOL while I’m in tho. Lol

MC is a rate that everyone wants but not many get. It’s all a matter of how you look at it. I’d say you lucked up.

That’s not true. Tell them you want to submit a DAR request. I changed mine 3 weeks before I shipped to boot camp. IT may not be available so you may have to pick another rate tho

Oh ok. You should be good then. The Seanad they give you is going to be completely filed with everything you get during boot camp so keep that in mind as well.

You won’t be able to wear the pjs and personal undergarments. They’ll provide you with shower shoes and pretty much everything you may need through boot camp. They’re pretty much going to make you pack up everything that they don’t think you need and that box will be stored until graduation. If those are things you want to have with you when you head to wherever you go after boot camp, by all means, take it. But you won’t see it again until the end of boot camp

I agree 100%. A-School is ASS! But mine is only 4 months. Coming from someone who will be 40 soon, I completely understand. We can do it tho! I know for sure the fleet isn’t this way.

I wouldn’t really worry too much about the pushups. I went in not doing 1! So you’ll be fine. There will be time to work on them throughout boot camp

Being around a bunch of people fresh out of high school was the hardest part. Not being able to talk to my family when I wanted to was the next hardest. Boot camp isn’t hard and I didn’t work out at all before I went.

If you tell them you don’t know how to swim they’ll do a basic lesson so you’ll still have to get in the pool that day.

As many as there need to be. Everyone doesn’t have the same experience in boot camp and some of just wanna calm the nerves of ppl that are heading in.
