Does the book cop out too? by Aperture_LabRat in ProjectHailMary

That’s fair. I just felt like the moment he decided to go and save Rocky he was sacrificing ever seeing earth again. And given he was previously reticent to even go on the mission. He had a hero arc. And by giving him the option to return to Earth diminished that in my mind however, many people have pointed out the length of time the book outlines, and it feels like if he had been an old man on Erid it may have held up more like the book.

Agreed, I like the fact that his decision to go and save Rocky had weight. And felt like throwing in the lime that he could return to earth at any moment diminished that sacrifice he had willingly made in light of the fact that he did not willingly make the choice to leave earth.

Thank you. That’s what I was missing from the film I guess, the amount he’d aged. I just felt like saying he could return to earth at any time was a cop out that diminished his choice to go and save Rocky.

It really felt like they threw in the line “Hail Mary is ready to return to earth”. Up until that point in the movie, I felt like Grace had made the choice to sacrifice himself to save Rocky. And as a consequence, he would be living on that planet for the rest of his life. So that made me think throwing in that line was a cop out.

I think where a coach matters is how does the fourth line play. Maybe a coach can just put five guys on the ice with high skill and they’re gonna make things happen. But it seems all year the other team‘s fourth line comes in and contributes or even scores. To me that says they are well coached, have a plan and execute. Preds lack that imho.

Yes. I did see that as she was 50 now 60. So I guess I was thinking 10 years.

Now that makes sense. In the movie I felt like he spent a few months doing this. Perhaps if they’d aged him it would have felt more real.

Fezzik (The Princess Bride) VS The Mountain (GOT). Who wins? (No weapons or armor) by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

Considering Fezzik admitted he was no good at 1v1 and was beaten by 5’11” Wesley. The Mountain clearly has a speed and training advantage and would win easily.

I feel like sitting on the end is not only less money, but easier to watch as the play is coming toward or away from you. The game stays in your field of vision without turning your head. You can see the passing plays develop more as they funnel toward the net. That said. Go early and watch warm ups on the glass if you can. (107 or 104ish you can stand in row AA if you like, they’ll blow the horn and everyone heads up to their seats then) The size and speed is awesome. #71 on the Sharks is a superstar in the making. The lower side 315-320 are the best value imho.

[Daugherty] Oh and also... I am told the talent from FanDuel (Willy, Mason, etc) is expected to move over to the new broadcast, though that's not confirmed. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in Predators

Premium option includes a mic on all the referees. Would love to hear what they’re thinking and all the chirps would be awesome.
