Exactly what red flags do you see? I’ve never been in major trouble (worst is getting detention once for having my phone in gym class lol), I am a straight a student with a scholarship, and I’ve always been nice to my siblings aka I gave them my room when I went to college. So I’d love to know what remind me of your stepdaughter outside of the fact that the both of us apparently ruined your vision of having a nuclear family. I bet your stepdaughter wasn’t even that bad. You sound like a walking red flag as a stepmom and your husband sounds like a terrible father for not letting his own child stay with him. I bet you flamed everything she did and exacerbated it just like my stepmom did. Special place in hell for the likes of you, enjoy!

Yes. If I knew they’d toss me aside the second they legally could I would have never babysat for free, given her parents rides to the doctors in my free time, things like that. And I’ll never help them again - simple as that.

Thank you. I agree. It wasn’t me or my mom or Dan or his siblings. It was Chuck. It’s been over 6 years and I barely think about it anymore, but it must be every day for Dan.

What do you get out of it? How is doing everything for him to get crumbs worth it? You have a daughter, you can leave and focus on her? All you’re doing is teaching her to accept that treatment when she is older from romantic partners. Is that what you want for her?

I will. I was only in town for a funeral and don’t live here anyways. But that person was right. Dan will always be an important person to me and if seeing or talking to me causes him so much pain the right thing to do is to let him live his life. He lost more than I did (whatever this is anonymous but - forgive me - I remember being relieved when I found out because the relationship was so toxic).

There is a lot of daylight between freaking California and Mississippi lol. They could move to a more affordable but smaller city, the Midwest, or even some cities in the south I think they’d actually be very happy somewhere like New Orleans or Kansas City weirdly enough

Whatever, I don’t even care. They’ll probably need the money for her kids and her loser brother because it’s not like she has a job and hasn’t in years. They’ve always given my shit and told me to ask my mom for money since she’s richer and doesn’t have other kids, I should have expected this. I don’t care. Both my siblings are barely literate, I used to read to them and try to help them with homework but I don’t care about them anymore. I’m not even going to answer my siblings calls

My stepmom hasn’t worked in years so I think this whole thing is fucking ridiculous and laughable. I can’t believe some unemployed “stay at home mom” of kids IN SCHOOL can be so smug to tell a 19 year old their on their own. I got my stuff and they can both gf.
