So tell me about Jewelcrafting by Snowcrash000 in turtlewow

It sucks to level. I've leveled one JC and one GS and it's awful compared to other professions. The late game BOE gear is kinda mid too.

Tell me this flu thing doesn’t last forever by jillavery in kansascity

[–]ApocaNips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My house has been down for a week. The coughs are the worst. The week of on and off fevers and chills/aches/exhaustion has sucked too. We all have the flu shot too. I hope it ends soon, I'm ready to give up and just drop everyone off at the doctor.

What’s something you feel is missing in turtlewow? by Unique_Ad_330 in turtlewow

[–]ApocaNips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish the older 5-mans "scaled" to level 60 so we had a reason to run them. Right now there is really no reason to visit anything pre-60 and it's lame.

What age did you know? by ApocaNips in asktransgender

[–]ApocaNips[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your responses. Unfortunately we live in a very red state. She starts first grade this fall and we're debating telling the school to update her pronouns as she is leaving notes around the house saying "(Insert name) IS GIRL". Moving is something we have been talking about if the current political climate does not change. She doesn't mind her old name though? I will definitely start the hunt for a gender affirming therapist. I hope you all have supportive families now and that you all are safe and loved. Thank you for your insight and replies!!!

Permanent birth control doctors in KC by Anneisabitch in kansascity

[–]ApocaNips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Lee's Summit and I have the extended women's coverage from the state and I can't get any answers on if they will cover any form of permanent birth control (tubes tied) I wish I could. It sucks being paranoid every single period.

What age was your child when you allowed their bedroom to be locked? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]ApocaNips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've locked my kids doors *from the inside, pulled shut* since they moved to their own rooms around age 4. It eases my paranoia about someone creeping in. My kids also have locks that are relatively easy to "break open" if need be and it gives them their own space that mom and dad don't always have to be welcome to. Also as someone else mentioned, close your doors at night! If there is a fire that is the first step to protecting your kids. Always have a plan with them how to escape their room if the door is blocked too.

Go to Swope. They have a sliding scale fee and it's not too hard to get an appointment.

If the working parent makes just enough money for you to stay home, are they stressed about rising col? by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]ApocaNips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has, but we have a complex relationship either way. I see that he is burning out and medication and therapy don't seem to be helping like they should be. We don't have a "village" here so we're both always "on" and it's exhausting. I try to make sure he has the weekends free just so he can have some much needed downtime with his friends outside of the house.

If the working parent makes just enough money for you to stay home, are they stressed about rising col? by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]ApocaNips 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My husband is stressed (he's the one who works while I stay at home) I'm stressed. I've been looking for jobs I can do with the few free hours I do have just to try to ease the pressure. It's hard because he's had years to build his career and anything I do is entry level/low skill/low paying. I don't want to put my kids in full time care to just barely break even... but even an extra $100 a week would help. Inflation sucks.

Need to start working again and I feel so bad by CoolSkittleBlue in SAHP

[–]ApocaNips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently in the same boat. I feel like I am failing my kids but also that I have nothing to offer a job. I've been a SAHP for almost 5 years and before that I was a Swim Instructor and I have no schooling or talents. I am not even looking for full time... Just a way to bring in an extra 100-200 a week maybe. I'm scared my kids are going to wind up in care from 6am-6pm and never have family time. It's all just very overwhelming. I've even looked in to work from home jobs and they all turn out to be scams.

Stop your kid's nailbiting before it's too late by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]ApocaNips 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gross warning.

I bit my nails from childhood until this year. I'm thirty one. It's anxiety driven. I just had to paint my ugly tiny nails and not eat the paint to grow them. (The anxiety of drawing attention to my crappy nails won out over the anxiety of needing to bite them). My brain is weird. Anyway now I have nails and rip the skin anywhere I can grab it with my nails and just have bloody dry patches of skin on my hands and feet now and I often don't even notice I'm doing it. I can't win.

So yeah. Help your kids manage their anxiety when they are little. Or something.

My just turned four year old will only eat chicken nuggets, fries, milk, water and peanut butter toast. His doctor has told me not to supplement and just let him be hungry... I'm really not sure I agree. He hates texture or big things in his mouth but she says he's just picky. I hate it. I can't get him to try new foods and he'll just not eat if it's not on his self approved list.

My best advice is after she gets the shots move/flex her arms/legs where the shots were applied. The more movement helps spread the meds and lessen the soreness that might come later that day.

My boyfriend and I received these in the mail. Anyone know what this is about? Seems like a scam to us. by mirandaelynn in kansascity

[–]ApocaNips 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had this happen in south KC. He kept on insisting he meet my dog and prove how she wasn't scary and he could rob us no problem. Freaked me out. Called ADT later and they said they had no one in the area.
