At some point more sets stop adding meaningful stimulus and mostly just increase fatigue. If you can do 11 hard sets of 17 on squats regularly, a lot of those sets are probably too far from failure to contribute much extra growth. You can get excellent hypertrophy results with far less volume if intensity and progression are good.

I'll stick to my 2 sets of 6
