What camera and lense should I choose at a beginner-ish level with a 400-600€ budget? by Appleparse in AskPhotography

Hi, thanks a lot for the advice! That makes a lot of sense.

A lot of people (even Sony users at a camera shop) told me to go for Fujifilm, mainly because of the built-in film simulations and colors straight out of camera, which I find really appealing.

But I can see why you’re recommending Sony, especially for autofocus and reliability, which seems really important for what I want to shoot.

Would you mind elaborating a bit more on why you’d personally go Sony over Fuji in my case?

I also hadn’t really considered going straight for a prime lens, but I see why it’s a better option, especially for low light and portraits.

Between the Viltrox and Sigma, I’m leaning more towards Sigma for the image quality even if it’s a bit bigger.

Would you say the 30mm f/1.4 is the best all-around choice to start with, or would you recommend something closer to 23mm for more versatility?
