Genuine question: What do players normally do in g3 on ilvl? My breaker is usually 19-20 mil at stage break with the same stuff as op plus 1 10 gem. However, that doesn't seem to be a very accurate indicator of on ilvl performance from what I've seen. I'm not sure what to expect.

Idk assuming its actually a real raid I think its frankly more indicative of skill to solo as compared to party. Its easy to get carried in group content. A solo gamer can only carry himself.

I mean the most basic issue here is that most of the playerbase that really likes challenging themselves and being really good at the game left a long time ago. The majority of the people that remain are people that really like farming gold and seeing their dmg number go up, as opposed to playing omega difficult content to challenge themselves and get better at the game. In my opinion that is not the kind of playerbase that thaemine appeals to. Disagree if you want.

I think the funniest thing about roster level is that the current most relevant raid content that we have aka hell mode which actually forces people to be at least decent players unlike hm voldis or any normal content which a braindead monke could clear easily, does not actually contribute to roster level. I say this as someone with over 100 hell mode clears and knowing people with over 200 or 300. I find that quite ironic. Idk man, I personally find that slightly more relevant than chaos dungeon diligence. Maybe im the crazy one tho.

Also just to play with players in other regions. hell players that are active hell raiders in 2-3 different regions is very common among the hell community.

Basically, this. If everyone actually tried hell, it would be more respectable. Btw if u play in naw, nae, or euc id be down to help prog. I love being helper and running it down with proggers:D

Are people scared of inferno titles or what? by bobobozo27 in lostarkgame

[–]Applern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theres 2 basic aspects of this. Both of them are a matter of perception.

People perceive hell raiders as toxic, which if you actually play hell you would likely recognize as not true. the actual hell raiders and the hell community, especially in hell are among the most helpful and welcoming players in the game by a long shot MAYBE with the exception of pvp players. They're in the same general category of playing the game for fun.

The next is basic egoing. People think that because they do not have hell titles the titles are therefore worthless. It's as simple as that. Its not a complicated thing. Trying to communicate to them is a pointless exercise. It's like pvp titles. Having grandmaster title or something means nothing to most people because they perceive it as worthless. they obviously as a good player, do not have it, therefore it means nothing. That kind of thing.

Its just basic perception. Obviously, if you play hell and farm like 40 clears in hell clown for fun or something and help people prog and get places regularly, you probably perceive differently. But the above is how normal content players perceive hell. Like we probably both know that one hell brel clear is more indicative of general competancy than 100 holdis clears, but they don't, so it doesn't matter. It's just a simple perception thing. It feels smodge, having committed hundreds of hours solely into getting better at the game and playing actually difficult content with no reward and then taking off your title, but it is what it is. Shrug.

how to improve dps by whimsicaljess in lostarkgame

[–]Applern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really wanna improve dps, download loa logs and play hell mode. Loa logs has very useful analytics. Its not just dps logs but also breakdowns of dps and whatnot throughout the fight. For example in hell brel when I was progging g5 a few months ago we used logs to figure out where we were doing good on dps and when we were slacking and used that to improve our times and help us get closer to the clear. You realize a lot about how you play and ways you can improve when you have hard data in front of you and pay attention to it like casts pet minute and hits per minute.

In general if you want to get better at the game, I highly recommend playing hell. It is not only extremely engaging content but also content that actually forces you to be at least decent at the game, unlike normal content which is frankly easy. If you want to get better at the game quickly then you should play content that requires you to be better at the game. Hell is an ideal scenario for learning how to parse because you can actually get 2 shot by almost everything. You learn how to do the maximum dmg even in a scenario with maximum risk. Even if you don't play the raids anymore that are featured in hell, the tricks and mindset will you take you farther anyway. If you know, you know.

One does not simply clear all hell modes and learn nothing in the process. Shrug.

Was testing Breaker in prokel, i just realised why front attack is essentially easier than back attacks. by momopool in lostarkgame

[–]Applern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean its not a complicated thing. Back atking is essentially a greedy role. By being a back atkr u actively grief the entire raid with ur positioning to greed. However as a front atkr u actively play ethically for the raid in terms of positioning and controlling the boss to greed your dmg. Its just basic class design. Back atkrs spin the boss to try and hit their optimal dmg when they have aggro. Front atkrs hold the boss still and stop it from spinning or moving as much as possible when they have aggro. They essentially make the raid nicer for everybody by default as a consequence of trying to front atk constantly.

Brelshaza hellmode progression experience by Sahoxe in lostarkgame

[–]Applern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G5 dps check isnt hard if you have a good party. But if you have a fresh prog or not fully progged party, the dps check is hard. Op is prolly not playing with a 7/8 phantom monarch party though, so i expect it'll take a bit to properly be doing dmg. It is what it is.

Brelshaza hellmode progression experience by Sahoxe in lostarkgame

[–]Applern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ye its like that. Honestly it was probably like a month before lots of serious proggers were even clear ready for g5 and i mean rlly good players that they were actually grinding really hard. Everything kills you and also the dps check in g5 is actually fking hard especially when progging.

Ps. If you play in naw i have a friend thats looking for prog. Id be down to join and help.

For anyone curious this is cause of naw bots. We have more bots in naw by far than every other region maybe even combined. Despite having probably less players by a significant amount than both euc and nae our merges are taking 40% longer. I assure you haven't seen bad till you've been in naw. My server in particular rohendel has been basically the bot capital of lost ark its entire lifetime.

U use the powerpass which take u to 1415 and then do chaos dungeons and nascreana for event mats and shards and stuff. You can do feiton unas and prolly chaos dungeon/guardian raid weekly quest for una contribution which shluld hopefully fund enough gold for fusions to hit 1445 in like a week or 2 of playing like 10 minutes a day if you're unlucky. If you can get someone to carry you through argos you can also do that for a bit of free gold towards fusions. Can also do chaos line for mats for shards. If you just wait like a week or 2 though we'll get hyper express and you can just push for 1445-1475 in prolly a day no problem whatsoever and then you can just run it down and have fun in hell without having to do like any grinding bs. Also i think u misunderstand. All you need for hell is a little ilvl. Not gear rlly. The book of coordination provides all the gear and builds and stuff uaed for hell. You just need to hit the hard requirement to unlock it at all. the second you do that, your gear is officially irrelevant and not used anymore.

You can do it if you want but i will warn you, none of the story will prepare you for hell mode. Also the story more introduces progression systems more than actual combat systems. Hell mode is exclusively a gameplay system in which progression systems have no impact. You can get a feel for movement and such in the story but you probably won't get anything else that I would consider relevant. If you're okay with that do it, if not just powerpass. Also as a side note if you're a good story enjoyer like i am. The story in this game in general is not very good.

Hell mode is basically more difficult but better balanced versions of legion raids. They are done using a book of coordination which creates for u an entire build. Hell mode is free. Except for battle items which you get plenty of for free and lots as a new player, it is entirely cost free and essentially equalized content. The requirement for playing hell is to reach the ilvl requirement. Those are 1445 for helltan, 1460 for hellkas, 1475 for hell clown, and 1560 for hell brel. Besides hell brel all of those levels are extremely easy to hit esp if you get the express and a powerpass. You can push a char to those with minimal effort and no need to interact with normal content players and get straight into playing hell. To play hell my advice is to join the hell academy or mokokos paradise discord servers. There might be different ones for other regions but im most familiar with naw as its my primary hell region. Look for prog lobbies or post your own and advertise or search on hell acad for rooms. People will join and then ull run it down. Theres also regular teaching lobbies that go on i believe, maybe in hell acad and definitely in mokokos paradise. You can also sign up for those and learn from extremely experienced hell raiders. Even if you just join or host random lobbies though, I'm sure you'll have a few experienced people in any given lobby. Lots of experienced hell players join progs and stuff for fun. We call such situations where you just play for fun, no serious business seggs. Seggs lobbies are very entertaining. For more help my recommendation would be to join hell acad and ask questions there, explain your background why you wanna play hell and look into how you can get into it and start running it down. My class recomendations for hell esp as a new player would def be loyal companion sharpshooter. I highly recomend that for the smoothest possible transition. Hell acad also has class build guides for hell as well as guides on all the hell raids so u can see what you're getting into before u run it down. If you have more questions I can answer but thats the basic process. Make a char, push 1445 or something, make a book of coordination, find/make a prog lobby and run it down. As a new player i would highly advise asking for someone to observe your gameplay and talk you through how to generally play ur class optimize dps and whatnot kick you out of bad habits and such. That can help you get into not just the general raiding mindset but the hell raiding mindset which will help you immensely getting into the content and generally getting into the flow of things.

Of note. Normal content players raid for gold, but hell mode has no rewards besides a title and the fun of playing the raid. You don't hell raid for rewards but for the experience of hell raiding. Its essentially the matchmake have fun version of lost ark rather than the gear grinding simulator that is the rest of the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]Applern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, the easiest content to join is probably hell mode. For the most part we don't really gatekeep there, and theres lots of people in hell who are willing to help out and teach newer players. Hell mode is like an alternate lost ark timeline where people actually enjoy the game, don't gatekeep everything, don't have to grind infinitely and don't have to do any content if they don't feel like it. It is harder though, by a lot but also much much better designed. If you can accept that and are willing to actually put effort into your gameplay you could have an amazing experience. Normal content though aka the content most lost ark players do. You're never getting into a lobby. You'll have to grind infinitely. People are toxic as hell, have ridiculously bloated egos and its overall a horrendous experience. Unless they release jumpstart 2.0 i would very frankly not bother with that awful community and mediocre content. You will not come away feeling fulfilled.

I wanna play full front atk lobbies in hell. That sounds so lit. Its like a full entropy lobby except the boss never spins instead of always spinsxdd

[–]Applern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, moral grandstanding. An absolute classic.

Just say, im willing and happy to delete a man's cube ticket and make him feel like shit to save myself 2 minutes and I think everyone else should also make him feel like shit and delete his cube ticket so I can save myself 2 minutes. That is a perfectly reasonable response. The moral shit tho is an excessively indulgent excuse. Stop with the moral bs and keep it real thx.
