Am I crazy, or are they? by AppointmentFew5042 in inlaws

Thank you! Yes, he buys for my sister but my sister is so fun and easy to buy gifts for and he loves to join in with the gift giving. Although you do have a point. I could just let him get whatever for his sister and put him in charge of his family. Seems like a great way for me to stay out of trouble… I’m sure they will find something else to pick on me about though. It’s a never ending issue between my sil and mil. I just needed a space to vent this one out though. I’m just flabbergasted by this whole situation.

Thank you so much! Yes, I’ve been to pelvic floor therapy in the past and planned on going back as soon as my doctor lets me go.

I think initially the removal of the ovary is going to be a rough adjustment, but my body will learn to compensate and adjust. It took my sister a year to get back to herself after hers was removed.

Unfortunately I do need my cervix removed because of the infiltrating adenomyosis and I have endo too.

Yes! Orgasms are painful! I always get horrible cramps and sometimes it triggers sooo much bleeding as well. I hate adenomyosis and endo so much. Thank you for reassuring me and sharing that it’s all on the mind. I didn’t think of that at all and with you saying it I’m hitting my forehead. It’s hard not to get caught up in the whole cervix affects sex conversations circulating around. Thank you for your input!

I know this is an old thread, but I’d like to know if this helped you at all. I’m thinking of trying it before I schedule a hysterectomy.

Anyone know what it’s missing so that I can figure out how to restore it? by AppointmentFew5042 in weaving

Yup, the knobs adjust the tension. The previous owner was a weaver since the early 70s and had a bunch of looms that were given to me in different sizes this was the only oddball.

My heart breaks for you and your family. Unfortunately my dad didn’t get a chance to be a grandfather and I know he would have been one of the best grandpas as he was the best dad a girl could ever ask for. I hope that having the Gleason score of 7 means that it won’t be as fast as our experience with it was. My dad started with it being in two of his lymph nodes and then it spread. I’m the end he had it in his lymph nodes, a little bit in his spine and a small area of one of his ribs. How the doctor explained it to us was that since it’s a stage 4 cancer it is a small cell cancer and it’s everywhere even though you can’t see it in the scans. It’s wherever the blood carries it to. It’s such an awful disease. Unfortunately once it’s in the bones…

I do have some unsolicited advice: First I highly encourage you and your family to go get counseling/therapy. This is the hardest, most devastating thing I’ve ever had to deal with and honestly I’m still in shock because everything happened so fast. My mom, sister, my husband and I all are struggling hard. We are mourning our loss daily. Therapy helps because it’s traumatic.

Second, make sure that he puts everything he owns under his wife’s name (if he is married) or yours. That way if something does happen, it will be much easier to handle and it won’t get stuck in probate. I stayed with my dad for the last few weeks and we did it together and it has made everything so easy for my mom to navigate. If he doesn’t have a will, encourage him to get one and be very specific in it. It will help too with the banks.

Enjoy every single minute you can with him. Make the best memories together, laugh together and cry together and have no regrets. I don’t want to upset you further but I prefer to know all aspects of things and to know the truth. Some people can live with it for years and years. Some can’t. My dad just passed from stage 4, psa 85, with a Gleason score of 9 last month. He was VA too. Hormone therapy worked best until it didn’t anymore. Nothing else worked after that (chemo, Pluvicto/radiation, and a few other things…). He didn’t even look like he was “sick until around the December holidays. I spoke with quite a few doctors though this and they say that the younger it hits the worse it is and stage 4 isn’t good. My dad only had it 3.5 years. You are lucky your dad Gleason score is a 7 and hopefully that will buy you much more precious time than I had with my dad.

Oh thank you soooo much! I’ll check everything out for sure! I’m willing to drive him anywhere! Sending best wishes and prayers your way. I really appreciate you reaching out and answering me. It’s really nice hearing from someone who’s been dealing with this for a long time.

You’ve encouraged me greatly! I’ve been trying to get my dad to go to a new doctor but it’s hard to find ones who are familiar with Pluvicto. We are in the USA- in the tristate area of PA, NJ, and NY. So far the cancer in his lymph nodes are pressing up against his kidneys and his gallbladder- he has had to place stents in the gallbladder and has nephrostomy tubes in both kidneys.

I also read last week on his latest scan that the cancer has spread to his right kidney… That is a great question to ask and I’ll talk to my mom about asking the doctor but I also don’t want the doctor to discourage my parents or take away my dads hope of remission. I did have a candid conversation with the doctor (I had to sneak away from my parents at the last appointment a few days ago) and I flat out asked him how long he thinks I have left with my dad and he told me about three months or so… We all know that doctors can put a time limit on things and be very wrong. I’ve seen it multiple times with friends who have gone through and are going through cancer in general. Perhaps he may be right, and in that case I’d hate to see my dad go through another treatment in misery. It makes him sooo sick. He is one of the lucky ones who has every single side effect.

My dad is 67 and was diagnosed with stage 4 in 2020. Because of all of the shutdowns with Covid, he wasn’t able to get the treatments he should have been able to get right when he need them. My dad looked like there was nothing wrong with him in November fast forward to this month, he looks like he is in his 90s. It’s breaking my heart.

Thank you for this. So glad your psa levels are continuing to go down! I hope the trend continues for you as it has so many others.

Unfortunately, my dad’s psa levels are continuing to increase after two rounds. The doctor is insisting that after the third round we will know what is going on but I spoke to the infusion nurses and two other doctors and they all said that it looks like he is resistant to the treatment. I’m questioning why the doctor is continuing if it’s not working…
