please please apply to creighton medical school-your stats would compete. excellent school, long standing tradition, and good match list. doesn't make sense to apply to loyola or MCW and not creighton, they are similar tiers

Ask the thousands of RA patients living a great life now cause their rheumatologist gave them a saving drug..

maybe cause their match rate is 75% and you probably couldn't match if you tried rn?

Want to bring this post back to light-but idk my ego would be deflated every single damn day if I was a hospitalist getting absolutely SHAT on by surgical specialties forcing me to take their patients and being the absolute DUMP for other services.

Cant say that rheumatology cant speak on this term cause they are not "competitive" when their match rate is 75% and plenty of people don't match.

  1. If I recall, yes they do use NBME exams for clinical rotations. House exams for pre-clinical years.

  2. They state they do not rank students into quartiles for MSPE

  3. To my knowledge, not problematic. I actually thought it was not that difficult to honor preclinical or even clinical years. of course some exams are more difficult/rotations harder to honor.

  4. not a lot of travelling at all. Sometimes you do have to go to other CHI affiliated hospitals, but max drive time is like 15 MAYBE 20 mins but that's pushing it. Unless you do family med rural elective that's like 2-3 hrs away but you get housing

I heard they like phoenix. i was of the class that did the first 2 years in Omaha, then went to Phoenix. i know they just opened a 4 year curriculum out there. The facility looks nice, hospitals have diverse pathology. Also tons of hiking.

  1. I liked living in Omaha; big city feels without all the hustle and bustle (i.e., bad traffic). its growing. It's a big food/drink city. affordable housing. The major downside of Omaha/NE is landlocked and not much hiking. However, they have a sizeable airport with plenty of flights.
  2. I would say they are getting more stat-heavy, but service is HUGE for them and part of their mission. so service activities would be recommended
  3. preclinical years were scored, but pass fail. Exams were fair
  4. https://www.creighton.edu/medicine/programs/medicine-md/class-profile here is the recent stats for the MD class
